What with the cost of training and bringing up intelligence. Is there a point to having more than one strong pet?

Although you can get more loot with multiple trained pets, it is probably going to take years for the loot to pay off the training costs (that is, if you can even sell it). I feel it is more for fun factor in a financial sense (though it can still be nice to do).

It all comes down to the person really. Training more than one pet allows you to get extra loot drops (specially if the loot happens to be tomes or mage amulets and scrolls) It is costly yes but I think it's worth it if you really want to go through with it.

All right, thanks guys! I guess I'll just stick with the intelligent pet for battling until I can afford to get the rest of them up. :)

I have my main battle pet that is Tier 11 and then six other babies at Tier 6. It costs about 15k per training session and I train them 2-4 times per day. They each have enough INT to equip one scroll. In the long run I would say it is worth it. They have each won me multiple tomes, mage amulets, countless battle tokens. Because of their increased stats they can get decent jobs to help pay it off too.

I just consider it a small investment each day that pays off huge when they can beat the right challengers

I have a very similar situation to Survivor. Main is T10 and then one 6, two 5s and two 4s. My 10 and 6 I put in classes any time I get an alert. I'm not so diligent with the others, but they still slowly grow. So far doing the day to day on here, getting a daily amount of sP, I dont actually notice spending on the babies, they just aren't big enough. If you ever want others, I'd recommend just popping them in every once in a while so they aren't completely untrained when you start on them :P

Since I love loot and collecting that kind of stuff I want two, but I agree that with high intel it can be costly to raise more then one pet. I haven't really try to raise intel on my two pets, but I guess I will have to soon to be able to beat those extremely hard and impossible ones!

I have my main battle pet, who gets all of my INT boosters and books, a tier 8 who gets some books and BQs but no boosters, and then 8 other pets in tiers 5-7 that only get the cheapest books.

Personally, If you're going to be serious about battling, I recommend training as many pets as you have the money for. It'll make getting a Gelatin Slayer a lot easier, you'll have more chances at getting a Shriek from Nightlady, and you'll get more amulets, tomes, and miscellaneous boosters.

I think it's worth it in the long run. And if you do decide to train multiple pets, be sure to pick one as your main. That will be the pet that you pay the most attention to (battle quests, boosters, etc.) It seems like new battlers sometimes worry about not training their pets equally, but it's better this way because you can beat stronger opponents (and collect their loot) sooner.

It also takes a long time to train pets up, so it's better to start sooner.

Multiple pets mean:

  • multiple training cost
  • multiple loot
  • multiple battle token drops (or atleast easier)

I dont know if it will pay off in the long run but I am just greedy =P So i just forget i pay over 1,3mil per day training my pets and am always happy when i get multiple of expensive (and limited) loot or a crap load of amulets and tokens. The good part is that battling is so much easier with multiple pets with the preset weapon set option in the armory. Saves alot of time and hassle tbh =)

In the end i would say It is up to you if you want to invest the sP and the time to train more pets and if you enjoy battling enough to dedicate more pets too it and even more time when there are (limited) new challengers.
