I soak them in a glass of hot water for an hour, then use pliers to screw off the cap. Usually works.

I second putting the lids under hot/warm water. It might help loosen the paint, and the pliers would give you a better grip to turn the top. If there's some paint that won't budge, try pulling the stubborn bit off, and then soak+pull with pliers. I know how frustrating it can be :x

Thank you and !

i'll try removing the dry paint of the lids with hot water then

i didn't want to it with linseed oil aha, i'm afraid that the linseed will go inside the paint inside the tube and that the paint will get too liquid... and wow putting the lids in warm water sounds so obvious, but i really didn't think about, aha. i'll put them in hot water. thank you ♥

It seems so obvious after you think of it xP I was in the same boat a few years ago, and when someone told me about hot water, and picking off the hard bits, it was like ... why did I think of this before?!

x3 Hope you can get the tubes open! I know the pain of having to cut them open to get the paint out :c

exactly aha, now i feel dumb xD

thank you! i didn't want to open them because... well, because i'm lazy, and just squeezing the tube and let the paint come out is way easier than having to take the paint out of a bottle with a clean brush every single time it's a pain to clean brushes. i hate cleaning brushes xc
