Second.. thats a nice concept! oO I think the shape is good.. it just needs a proper outline around the wig and a more defined shading without that lighting spot on top left. Also, you might want to draw some hair flowing or laying over a few flowers. Otherwise you'd have to make them a seperated item. (also, not sure if you are using the bigger bases, , but if you do it might help if you post the wig in the bigger, working size, so people can give you better feedback =3)

I agree with Squishy, the shape of this is really good. Just need to work on defining the shading, right now it is very soft and murky, with only the very dark right side and very light left side. You'll need to bring out the colors and shapes of the strands of hair for this to work with Subeta style. Cute concept, though!

The wig is cute - needs shading though, but people told you this before ;) About the BG: Still very generic, I think - You'll need more stars and finer details (not only those spiral lines with different brushes). Don't make the hole in the middle look like a gigantic soap bubble. Finer colour differences could also help - not only white, red, yellow, but all the colours inbetween. I don't think stars have just three colours. Oh, and I also think it needs a lot of depth - which will probably come as soon as that soap bubble disappears. You call it black hole, make it a black hole, not a white bubble! I guess googling up reference pics would help a lot.

Oh, and is that already the right image size? I'm not sure if the current size fits a HA base.

Just so you know, you aren't allowed to create companion versions of Subeta pets. link to the thread. You'd have to make it some sort of hybrid, or just different enough for it not to be a direct tribute.

As for the art, I like the face, but I don't like how the foot is cut off like that, I'd rather have the whole companion in the wearable. Also, his placement covers up a lot of the HA, so maybe it would be hard to use. Maybe move it to the left a bit more, and curl up its tail?

I did see one other person do a tribute, but it doesn't really matter. I can just change the colors and make it not a mahar tribute. Thank you so much for your input! :3

the positioning is much better, I like how it looks like it's nuzzling up to the HA :)

as for technical critique, the lineart looks a bit thin, it should be around the same thickness as the HA outline (but slightly thinner than that).

I echo the lineart critique, it will have to be thicker, especially as this is already the bigger version. In real HA size the current lineart will practically not be seen. By the way, how's that dragon keeping sitting? I have the impression that the next moment he'll fall backwards... Where is the second horn? Where is the second foot? And what is the paw doing on the HA's legs? Is the dragon holding on to the legs or what does he do? And I guess you need some texture in it unless you want the dragon skin to be completely smooth like a dolphin. A dragon has (normally) scales, but if you want something else, go ahead, just give him structure. At the moment, there's a lot of plain grey. Also, you could get some shadow problems as the dragon is on the left side of the HA and the light source is top left => shadow on the HA? I guess you should put some, but maybe ask an experienced CW artist who could tell you better about such issues. But please, keep the work up, the dragon has overall a nice size, not as small as most of the companions but still he doesn't hide the HA base too much. I like that.

I'm a little late, but at first for the bg.. I think its super, super difficult to do "galactic" looking bg's. Don't hit me, but i think it might be better to start with something easier. Its extremely difficult to get shape into bg's like that. You need a lot of experience for them and.. yes, i personally would shelve this for now and maybe redo it a little later. Trust me, that thing will eat every little bit of your nerves. x) (i can't do them either xD)

For the dragon.. already pointed out some things i agree with. I guess he is keeping himself up with help of his tail? I have to say, its a nice base. However, i personally would make it a little smaller and the tail a little shorter. If you make it smaller it will be much easier to use on the ha and it will be much easier to shade. In general the shade is on the right place, but its a little too much and you have to take muscles and shapes into consideration as well. If the light is coming from top left there can't be shadow over the whole shoulder or thigh for example. Also, shadow is not just to show where the light is coming from, but also your tool to give the dragon depth and shape. So try to see how the dragon is shaped and place your shadows in that way. edit: Oh i forgot, you should avoid to draw certain parts so dark you can't see the outlines anymore. Not sure if the food is completely black, but at least it looks like it and i doubt it would be accepted like this. Try using dark grey instead!

Working Size

One thing I notice is that there are some jagged points on the tail where it should be round. The tail right next to the foot, for example, has almost a straight line dropping down and there isn't really a smooth transition to that from the curved tail. There's another point around the darkest point that's shaded on the bottom right, and another where the shading starts on the right of the tail.

There are a couple other things, but I don't think I have the eye and the know-how to critique them properly, so I'll leave that up to the others. This thread is great for anatomical guides. There are some specifically for dragons.
