The Computer Geek quests were removed without any warning. One of the reasons given was that it was impossible to make the quests logical without sticking to Bits and Bytes items and causing them to inflate too much.

Players made a lot of suggestions about these quests in the past. The basic idea was gearing the quests to cater for a geek so they didn't have to be asking for just computer parts. He could also have asked for coffee, snacks, trading cards and gaming items from the Trading Card Center.

As for the quests not being popular, I know I was put off by getting so many useless computer cases instead of items. It was no fun handing in a high rarity item just to get a case instead of something worthwhile. All that needed to be done was get rid of the computer cases as prizes.

You know the entire time I did the Computer Quests I always figured the items he wanted us to get for him were actually suppose to be like items he wanted not items he needed to fix his computers with. No where did he said "Oh darn. I really need this item to fix this part but I can't get it right now." He just wanted, for probably collector's reasoning, a toy or two. To me it was more, "Hey, I want/need to buy the lastest hot toy for my collection but I'm elbow deep in this computer and can't quit. Go buy it for me please." Course with the small amount of toys we have on site you do have to use your imagination when he asks for the nth time the same thing.

Now with that I really could see him asking for us to get him some coffee or food. But what does it matter now?

And dude, if getting crappy item rewards (seriously I never had a problem with the sp amount I received) are the reason no one did these quests then that would go for all the crappy quests. Down with Drunk Carl and Major Drills then!

It's too late for the Computer Geek now but we players could have come up with ideas for making the quest more logical/popular. This is why I'm suggesting that we're asked for ideas for improving Drunk Carl or Major Drills rather than them being removed from the site because they aren't very popular. After all, isn't that what the Brainstorming forum is for?
