For 150m, you can get thirty percent off all of your purchases from the main shops (I am certain this does NOT include the cash shop and I don't -think- it includes the Millionaire Center or Pawn Shop, but please correct me if I'm wrong.)
So, how much restocking would one have to do to make up the costs? Is it worth it? Do you have one? Do you love it or regret it?
bird and bear and hare and fish give my love her fondest wish
Theres not many shops who have high prices that you can get regular good items from bar the magic box.
Say the average items 60k you get it for 42k = 18k saved
Just to break even you'd have to restock over 8333 items around that price
But all it all just stick with a 20% :D
Probably not. I bought the CSC to buy the 20% discount card when it was half price during the sales last November. I've only recently earned that money back in savings, and I restock a lot. Even without the sales, the 20% card is a better offer: about 55 mill sp equivalent compared to nearly three times that for only twice the savings.
I have 20% card and that is worth it than the 30%. Since I have had I've save 600k.
I got one several years ago. When I first got it, I wasn't even into RSing, but I don't regret getting the card because that's what got me into RSing. I've made more than enough sP since then to cover the cost of the card. Several times over. :)
It was a lot cheaper back then though. 50 million originally, if I remember rightly.
I actually found my 30% card in the Donation Center, so it has saved me a bunch!
I got mine from the Crystal shop (a whole lot of fragging), but it was fairly cheap compared to the 150 mil price tag. I never would have bought it at that price. I think I have it about 3 - 4 years, I'm not a big restocker, and I've saved up: You have saved 10,645,854 sP using your discount card.
It's not a whole lot of money saved, but just seeing the discount message with every purchase makes me happy. :P In short, I really love it, but I wouldn't have paid 150m for it.
I got my 30% card from the donation center years ago when giveaways were done by throwing items in there instead of the free shop. Discount Card 39,854,381 sP Saved - Despite having it for years, I'm not even close to reaching 150m in savings on it.
It was maybe worth buying back when Subeautique items were restockable, but not now.
I'd be happy if I got one for free, but, honesty, there are maybe 3 shops where using this card would actually help: the Magic Box, 'Tique [though i dont know if it works there], and All That Glitters.
I restock more when I do quests, other than this, it would simply collect dust >.>
It doesn't work in Subeautique unfortunately. :(
thanks for the info. ;-;
ooh, i just remembered there are some items in the NPC shops that cost a bit more like some 5 or 7k and this discount card would be useful when restocking those. these items are usually new releases, or more wanted than others. [but they are not always worth buying from the main shops]
I bought mine for the 150MsP, and it took me nearly six years to 'pay it off'. I bought it mostly for laughs and the ability to say "I've got one and you don't", because that was a thing here then. I never expected to get my sP back. From the economic point of view, not worth it compared to the 20% one. From the point of view of that amusement and the ability to often undercut Vendors who think that things have a fixed price, totally worth it.
It did work in the original version of the Subeautique, but it no longer works in the invitation-only one. It doesn't work in Pawn Shop nor the Millionaire Center. The main shops that earned enough to pay it off after Subeautique changed were All That Glitters and Magic Box.
Once upon a time users screamed and screamed about inflation, and so for about two and a half years, Subeta's PTB took a strong deflationary stance. In particular, the wholesale price of every single item in official shops on the site would increase depending on the actual restocking demand and not on (holds nose) Rarity. Since items bought wholesale remove sP out of the site, this became so effective that everyone started Vending like mad and giftbombing trash items, and begging SubetaTeam to do mass buys on (pukes) Rare items to overcome this very deflation they were so deeply begging for. This wholesale inflation was stopped not too long before Vending was limited, and base wholesale prices were reset. Recently, some of the new items have been increasing in price again, but the coefficient appears to be much smaller. If this continues, a discount card may become very very nice to have.
I have the 20% one and I personally think due to the price difference it's the better option. As an avid restocker and quester I have made 10% up so far, I guess it will be worth it as long as I stay as active.
I really enjoy having it. Originally I bought it because I thought it would be super useful for shops like the Magic Box and All That Glitters, but the difference is too low to even stand out to me.
The reason I'm enjoying it is because most of the times I can choose the main shop option over the user shop option and it will make my restock count go up. There are many items which are just slightly lower in user shops, at least that's my impresson from questing. And I simply enjoying getting a discount as well.
But I never had the thought 'I'm really glad I have a discount card!'. It's an investment that pays off in the very long and active run, I think. You have saved the 150m once you spent 350m (500m without discount) in shops.
