First: Horse so someone I know says it's very stocky. And I know that the muzzle is too short. Which is an unfortunate habit of mine, but do you guys think? And could you give some advice please xD Link
Second: A body I did the other day. If you think something looks beyond odd feel free to point out. Also does anyone know any good stomach abs references :'D Link
Bonus question: Can anyone explain to me the meaning of "dry head" in horse terminology?
- No one has helped you out yet? Hopefully I can remedy that. (ps. magpies are my favorite bird)
The horse: It is very stocky in the face, has a really thin union of head and neck, with very little mass where the esophagus should be. The horse has a cartoony/pony look to it with a droopy head (neck attachment too high on the head). Here is a redline.
The body: Looks pretty good to me. The knees are a little funny--they give the impression that he has digitigrade legs (because of heavy shadows underneath)--but since he has a tail, that may have been on purpose!
I've always heard "dryhead" in association with wild horse roundups. Don't know what it means, though.
Oh meh gawd, there be life, liiiifeee! :O
Thanks grouse, yeah was trying to decide between digitigrade and normal legs, since I was messing around for a character idea :3 I was thinking about Arabians when I as making the head, so that might be the reason, thank you for the red line and help.
The snout of the horse is more like that of a pony, the other thing I see are abnormaly large (anime) eyes-looks good for like a shetland though. The curvature of the neck feels overdone like the disks are being squished or pinched ventraly.
Individualy each section of the person looks good, but the relationships between them all are off. I feel like the thighs need to be a bit longer (thighs are about 2/3 the size of the torso) The relationship between the arms and the torso- most noticably in that the upper arms are too short. The elbow always lines up closely with the bellybutton. If you want to know the trick to drawing people, well, take a look at human phi proportion. Almost everythiung is a phi proportion (1/.618) to it's neigboring bodypart.

Thank you anon ;_; x10 March 4/21/21 (RIP Storm-buddy the leopard gecko- you lived a great 16.5 years.)
Ohh Human Phi proportion looks interesting, going to look into that :3
Ps. I like your RARR club nods
Noo good at redlining, sorry, but as for 'dry heads', google says:
so yeah, what I glean from the rest of that topic is that it's when a horse loses baby fat and its head becomes more adult/bony/prominent/refined
PS, adore the username. If it was free I would snatch it in a minute XD
