These need a bit more work put in before they'll be up to quality I think. The lines on the wearable version are really pixelated, and the ones on the item versions are very shaky and have breaks in them because I think they're being resized from a rectangle and not a square? As for the shading, I can see some gradient or soft shading? That's not allowed on Subeta artwork. All shading must be done in a cell shading format and must have at the very LEAST, three levels of shading. That means : Highlight / BASE / Shading 1 / Shading 2. Therefore, you really need 4+ colors of shading, depending on detail. Shading should also come from the top left. Most of your item seems to follow this in a general way, but not really on his body where it connects into his neck. I'm not sure if that's a marking maybe? But either way, it portrays as shading, and it looks off.

If you need anymore help, feel free to let me know. Just know I put a lot of time into trying to help people get going on CWs, so only ping me if you really want to work hard C:

Your lines are still really pixelated. And the shading still looks pretty soft and patchy. It looks a bit more like markings than shading. Do you mind if I redline?

Here is a little tutorial thinger. Remember that it's just to help, and not to be offensive and / or be copied. LINK The first couple things are blown up to be bigger to show you detail. Second to last is the actual size I worked on it, and last is final size with the HA. Line art: You really need to work on making your lines smoother. They need to be crisp and smooth. Not pixelated or foggy. I suggest working on the lines FIRST and getting them down properly before you continue. Shading: You really need to use crisp cell shading. I have exaggerated the colors a little to make it easier to see how I cell shade. Avoid using the blur tool or smoothing tool at what ever costs. Also, avoid dodge / burn.

Hope that helps C:

I still think the lines are pretty shaky and the shading looks like dodge/burning. :C What program are you using? Maybe that will give me insight.

I think Mels has you going on the right track here, because she's right. The line thickness is all over the place. Some parts are thick while others are thin. Overall the figure looks unfinished I think mostly due to the shaky/sketch feeling of it, but also because the shading isn't quite right. Remember the light source is going to be in the top left and that's going to make everything furthest away from the light source your darkest areas, as well as the areas under the chin and where the tail overlaps. I think this still requires a lot of work. Make sure you're referring back to Mels' tutorial. The figure she drew for you is pretty much spot on.

Okay, so I spent some time looking for tutorials for Gimp. And sadly there really isn't a tutorial for what you need to learn. It's just something you're going to need to practice. And it may not happen right away. In fact, it took me many years to learn how to do line art smoothly on the computer. Start practicing smooth line art. No matter whether you're zoomed in, or zoomed out, it should look nice. Look at the lines from the last image you've provided. Do they look like they're the same smoothness as the lines of the items on your HA, or mine? I'm sure this is going to be a long, frustrating process to learn, but don't give up. I also think you need to learn what shading is. Not how to shade, but what exactly it is. I suggest looking up tutorials, and looking at real objects. Start with less complicated things. Boxes, eggs, etc. Get practice in. Because honestly, if you can shade any basic shape, you can shade anything in the world. Really.

I think right now, I can't be of any more help because from here you need to take it upon yourself to learn basics before you jump in head first on something more dynamic and advanced. Because honestly, CWs are pretty advanced quality.

Checking interest again. The redone art is in the OP but I'm also going to post it here. Crit welcome.
