Well, I've decided to give Subeta a shot after something like five years of Neopets. I understand you guys have a much better forum system, but I'm really just here for the critters. :1

Hello, and welcome to salvation :P

I left Neopets for Subeta over three years ago, and have never looked back. I could ramble on for quite a while about what makes this place awesome, but I don't want to bore you to death.

The only thing I'm really worried about is the fact that Subeta seems to be a little less pet-oriented than I'd like. I figure that probably depends on how you play things, though.

It's true that the pets here are more of a component of the site than the main focus of it, but I think that lets everyone play Subeta how they would like to. If you're more of a pets person, then you can colour them, zap them, battle them, and play with them. If you like Human Avatars, you can put together a massive wardrobe and dress yours up a thousand different ways. Like to role play, debate or just chat with other users? Then there's a wide array of forums to choose from with a lot of freedom to express yourself without living in fear of getting frozen arbitrarily. There's also a booming artist community, quests to do, and plots and puzzles to work out. You can also mix and match any of those interests any way you want! :)

The pets have a smaller role than the avatars I'm afraid, but with the pet spotlight, the more you "put" into your pets, the more you'll get outta them. Thankfully though, Subeta has something for everyone.
