I'm sorry if this has already been answered somewhere I just couldn't find it.

I would like to know if there are any opponents that break weapons you have? I'm new to battling and I tend to avoid buying/using weapons because of thought of this.

Or the quick answer is no certain challanger breaks your weapons its certain weapons that break, not all do as listed above ^
