Blub-blub-blub, there are all these awesome artists making these awesome CW's and it has inspired me to try to make some of my own! Anyway, I've gone through a few edits now, still hoping to get some comments/critique/interest/whatever.
Previous versions

My first attempt! And also my first attempt at cel-shading anything. I am not really a digital artist normally, and am new to all this...hopefully I did okay, heh.
Version two: Added some more hair to the bottom on both sides, in an attempt to get it to look fuller/less just coming from the front. I still feel like maybe it's not enough, though?

Plus item images, although I still need to edit these to match with the latest version:

Version three: added more shading to emphasize the light source from the top left, but when I looked at it later I still didn't feel like it was enough:
Latest edit:

And here are the item images:

I'm extremely new here but personally I think it looks great. I would classify it as subeta style and good to go, honestly. I'm sure some more seasoned users could give you a better critique, but really the only thing I think is amiss is that it looks a little one dimensional at the ends, as if the hair is only in the front, and cut very short in the back (ie. no layers are visible.)
Thanks for the feedback!! I do agree with you about there not being enough at the ends...I'll probably experiment with adding some more coming from the back later.
Added more colors:

Though of course I'll have to remake them again if I do end up changing the silhouette. x____x
-- Love the recolors! The dark brown/black just reminds me of movie Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings. XD I think this would be great as a male hairstyle, too. :)
Glad you like the colors! :)
Looking to get some more feedback on these... ?
This wig looks good, it's just not something I want on my head. P: I assume it might be troublesome for the lack of depth concerning shading. Especially the blonde one looks rather flat, because the parts covered by hair aren't shaded enough. Err, I am not sure, but you could either try to add an additional layer of shading for the overall head form (considering the light source, it doesn't seem to be from the top left. more like from the top in general). It looks like you ignored that the head seems to block a bit of light too (like, the bottom part should be more dark). And also the parts where several hairs go together or start together or something, they look pretty flat there, too.
Same goes for the item images, but Idk, really. They look fine, but on the other hand, it might could be an issue later.
I haven't gotten around to fiddling with the light source yet, but what do you think of this level of shading? Does this show enough depth/layering, or do you think it still needs more deeper shading?
looks cute, but the back seems sorta empty. Maybe add a little bit on the right side towards the neck, just so it seems a little more full, like actual hair, rather than something just sitting on your forehead XD
Ahum.... It looks alright, but I really prefer the earlier version. Mostly because it doesn't look so.. sharp? No, but right no it looks like the layers are just on multiply and so the saturation suddenly increased, making the wig not so pretty anymore. I think working with the light source from the top left would actually add enough depth to it! I tried to apply this on your first version of the blond wig: (like, added shading and more light to the top left to define the head shape better)
Ooh, I see what you mean, thanks so much!
[edit]Tried to do what you said, here, what do you think?
And sorry for pinging you so much!! orz
No worries, I love pings. From what I can see right now is that the colors seem to be a bit off. The highlighted part looks much better now, I think, the tips look darker now, but they still look a bit 'dirty' to me. Colorwise. I don't know what kind of shading color/layer mode you used, but I think it would look a bit better with a yellowish grey? Maybe it's just my monitor, though. P: I think it looks nice, especially the darker versions of the wig now. I'd try to tweak a bit with the color of the shadow a bit (for blond, orange and that dark brown one), though.
I did use a yellowish grey for the blonde shadow, actually. XD I get what you mean about it looking "dirty," but I think I am satisfied with it/not able to get it any better than this, haha. Especially that dark brown one, ugh, I thought I was going to claw my eyes out trying to fix it, but everything I tried just made it look even more horrible. Thank you for all your help! c:
I think this is the first wig I'll be buying =O Totally want that blonde. Okay I want the greyish one too, but I don't know what I'd do with it ^^ I just love the colour. Are you taking preclaim slots?
My only crit is that you might want to make the highlights on the brown smaller, they're a little overpowering at the moment on the darker background, where as they blend into the paler colours a bit better. Not a lot smaller mind you, just a smidge.
Slots are now open here. :)
