Okay so.. I LOOOVE pokemon like any other cool person.. I want Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle and Blitzle. Best pokemon ever. Anyways. I have Pokemon Pearl. I wanna know which DS game I should buy.

Theres: HeartGold, White, Black, and Soul Silver.

Someone told me theres not a difference between White&Black and HG&SS. I'm not sure which to get for the both. I used to have the Pokemon Rescue Team (Don't remember which one) but sold it because it made me angry lol. If I can I'm thinking about getting a GBA and getting Pokemon Yellow and Sapphire and Emerald.. I don't know where to find Yellow but I know the other two can be bought online from Gamestop I believe..

Blitzle is only obtainable in Black/White. Whoever told you there was little difference between B/W and HG/SS was misinforming you. :c There's like 150 new pokemon, a totally different continent, and blah blah blah. Everything is different. It's also harder to find gen 1-4 pokemon, though.

I fully fully fully FULLY recommend Black/White over HG/SS. You might have Pokemon follow you in HG/SS, but I'd say B/W is more entertaining. The only downside is that you can't get Pikachu, Charmander, or Squirtle without a previous generation game or a friend who's willing to trade you, which you can easily do over wifi. c:

In the end, you can either choose nostalgia with HG/SS, or modern uppity-hoozblah with B/W.

Honestly, I'd reccomend HG/SS if you want a nostalgia kick (if you played the originals that is), and White/Black if you want something totally new to play. IMO, Black/White are better than HG/SS, because of all the neat new things in it and I loved the new Gen of Pokemon, and yeah there's no difference really between HG/SS and there's little difference between B/W, besides a few pokemon here or there, you can probably find all the differences online. Unless the person meant theres no different between HG/SS and B/W? If so they're very wrong cos it's 2 entirely different regions xD Also if you have Pokemon Black, in your game you'll get Black City, as opposed to White Forest I think it's called? If you get White.

I rambled. BUT YEAH TO SUM UP, they're all equally fun if you just want a fun Pokemon game to play, but I'd say go for Black/White overall.

I think white is superior, but that's just a personal preference. White is more about ancient/relic-y looking places with the white forest(which is centered around catching pokemon) and black is more technological/futuristic and the black city which is centered around getting rare items. + white has Braviary which is one of my favorites in b/w

I also have heart gold but that's only because I like ho-oh better than lugia. I think the difference between heart gold and soul silver is smaller than black and white, so really it just comes down to color exclusive legendaries and smaller pokemon in hg/ss

If you're intending on getting B/W for Christmas, I might recommend putting down Black 2 or White 2. The sequels to Black and White are coming out sometime this fall. Apparently the story picks up after the first game, but still gives enough background information to new players, and like other continuations of games in the Pokemon series, it should have improved function and features c:

I was looking through my friends B/W book and I wanna play SOOOOOO bad :'( Ugh.. Thank you though C: My friend was telling me about the new B/W that is coming out.

In my opinion B/W was very long. which is enjoyable to me.

I think the second game is just same map, different plot etc. Because they're introducing new character... wait where do they live?

If you already have Pearl you can catch a Pichu or Pikachu in the Trophy Garden and transfer it to one of the later games.

I've only played Platinum and Black, but I have to say that I LOVED Black. Enjoyable rivals, reusable TMs, and caves that didn't drive me insane.

Get Black. Reason because I have White and I need a trading partner.I have a Squirtle and Charmanderrrrrr. :P But seriously B/W would probably be my choice because like others said it adds so many new amazing pokemon and it has a fairly good story instead of "Oh catch pokemon, level them up, beat champion, done with everything." I mean it has that too but it's still more driven to me.

They created a new city in game, I think.
