So I just finished the first 26 of NGE after years of thinking it would be tedious (and I'm not much of an anime person, I tend to get into video games and comics more,,) and just. holy wow.

So much about NGE is so good. And then there's the really backwards inspirational things in it and Shinji's character as a whole. NGE probably isn't really what you'd consider a "happy" anime but so much about it fills me with warm fuzzy feelings. I'm really glad I watched it.

What about you guys?

I think i felt the same way about NGE before I watched it. But man once I did it really made me think about a lot of things.

Definitely one of my favorite animes. Tho I don't really agree with how the characters are portrayed on tumblr.

I watched the 3rd rebuild movie with my sister and I started reading the manga. It doesn't seem like such a revolutionary anime now, but the fandom is sucking me especially with all the Kawoshin and the true nature of unit 01.

I've had the theme song on repeat for days.

Eva has always been in my top 5 favorite anime series list. 3.0 was amazing, despite having to relive Kaworu's death x__x, and I'm really excited for the fourth and final movie coming out this year u

Evangelion is a really amazing series. I love how heavy it is with existentialist philosophy. If you haven't watched it yet you absolutely have to see the End of Eva movie. It's probably one of my all time favorite films. I've heard some people say that they really don't like the movie, but I just feel like it fits perfectly into the series along with the original ending. I don't think a movie has ever left me feeling that strange before though. Honestly it's pretty depressing, but there's still an uplifting message under that.

I totally understand what you mean about it giving you fuzzy feelings. The series has a really hopeful message of self-worth.

And I have to say that Shinji is one of my all time favorite characters and I strongly identify with him and his internal struggles. He's just a great character ugh.

NGE is my favorite anime ever. Funnily enough the first time I watched it, I got 5 episodes in and thought it was boring as crap so I dropped it. I have no idea what compelled me to watch it again but I'm so glad I did. The last two episodes in particular screwed with my mind in ways I cannot explain and the whole anime is just so thought provoking. It really is wonderful.

yeah I had the same experience as . I remember watching it when I was younger and thinking it was boring as all shit but I watched it a little later on and really loved it. It really surprises me that it has such a huge following to this day but I suppose the rebuilds keep it relevant. I still haven't watched the 3.0 rebuild, which is something I should get around to.

I'm so pleased that I can go into a thread for NGE and the sentiment is pro-Shinji and pro-Kaworu. I HAVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS. Subeta you have officially earned my respect and trust as a place to talk about anime.

i love evangelion if you couldn't already tell by my ha! i finished watching the anime, as well as end of evangelion, about a week ago. i'm currently watching rebuild, but i can't seem to find 2.22 available anywhere online. :/
