i was so excited to get my essence of melody because i knew you needed it to make a nostalgic pet but having been away from the site for a while i didn't realize you also needed the (incredibly expensive) so i broke my bank account buying one of those and then when i finally got to the final screen i was like "oh no that's not the pet i want to change into a nostalgic xotl" so thought oh it's nice of them to put a change your pet button here (thinking it would let me change over to the active pet that i wanted to be transformed for some reason..?) BUT GUESS WHAT? that's not how that button works!!

and now my pretty glade popoko petals is a nostalgic xotl instead of jumble.

i'm really dumb and that was a really expensive mistake for me :| durrrrr. at least i'm not very pet oriented, but it's still really irritating. reading comprehension, i apparently lack it.

Yeah, there have been suggestions to rewrite that button to "continue" or "proceed" or "transform" etc. Either that or to actually put in a real "choose different pet" button because at that point in the process I don't think you can back out anyway and pick a different pet.

i'm pretty good with reading warning popups and stuff too, and i don't recall there being one of those that said like "if you press yes petals will become a nostalgic xotl" NOT THAT SUBETA SHOULD HAVE TO HOLD OUR HANDS FOR EVERYTHING AND SPELL IT ALL OUT but it was kind of confusing!

Something similar happened to me. I got too excited and accidentally used a bloodred potion on the wrong pet, so I had to mass vend for another. It was no big deal and it's now resolved but still :/

Oh gosh, I actually just did the same thing to my pet the other day! I ended up dumping the pet with the name I liked in the adoption centre and renaming the pet I accidentally changed to a similar name.

Really wish the button said "change this pet" instead of just "change pet".
