I came back from hiatus and lost the pet names: Lupis and Cherokee. That's pretty messed up lol

On the bright side, you can rename two of your pets for free! It looks like you'll be able to get Lupis back on the 24th of this month. The account is being cleared for being inactive for a year.

Well, it's unfortunate and I'm sorry to hear about it but you've had a whole year to log in and save your account from turning inactive, so... Also, I think losing a couple of pet names is still better than losing your whole account so it could have been worse. :'D

I'll try to snag it then. Thanks~

Used to be you would have come back and your account would be completely gone. All the sp you earned, all your pets and all of your items, deleted. Now they just change the names! Isn't that so much better? :)

You've been inactive for...close to two years, since Lupis's new owner has been inactive for close to a year.

There is nothing messed up about that, and letting people that could be more active than you are actually get the names, instead of having them rot forever on an inactive account.

Like said, at least you didn't lose your whole account. That would of been a bummer if you had tried to log in and, OH! Your account's been wiped. Be grateful that you can rename your pets for free, as well. So, it's not that bad, right?

;;

Uh, they still wipe/delete accounts off of the database?? That's never stopped happening.

Well I knew they wiped frozen accounts, I thought they'd stopped with inactive ones. My bad.

@ heartache

Do they ? Pretty sure they do not. Only frozen ones, maybe ? There are currenly accounts inactive since 2 years ++ still not wiped, so I'm sure what they're wiping.

At least you're still alive, your life could be a lot more boring if you were dead.

Ok, well if you meant in general I don't know why you acted like I was wrong for commenting they don't clear inactives...

I don't understand the difference between 'in general' and what we were saying. They don't wipe inactive accounts anymore, so when is "in general" ?

If you're gone for nearly two years then WHY ARE YOU COMPLAINING...

They don't clear them from the database but you can still take the username and pet names from it once they become inactive.

A lot of pet sites clear names after a year.. subeta used to do that as well, though that's since changed with the new system. Now, if I remember correctly names are changed and the user if they log in again gets a prompt to change the names on their account, but it's not cleared.

If you were gone for over a year, your names are pretty much free game.....

I think it's awesome that subeta gives the opportunity to active users to claim names that are just rotting on inactive accounts. I come from neopets and there are so many names unavailable there cause people create the pet and then never log in again, it's so annoying.

Umm yeah, I like the current system. If you really wanted the names, you would've logged in once or twice in over two years.. Sorry for your loss, but you shouldn't be surprised. ;c
