I've had my account for 9 months now but I've been inactive for a while. I'm kinda random and I tend to get really interested in something for a short period of time, then completely lose interest. The longest time I've done something without losing interest is 7 months and still currently ongoing. I get confused easily and I like animals. Now that the not-so-little intro is over, I'm curious about something. How does one make friends here? I don't really know how.

I've had my account for a year and six months and just got back into it. So we're sorta in the same boat! I'm not sure how one goes about making friends either, as I was always terrible at that. But I think a simple hello thread like this might be a good place to start! (I'm not sure though, if you're looking to chat with people the chit-chat forum would probably be a good place to go as well.)

Welcome back! I'd recommend looking at the different forums, and maybe finding some that cater to your interests. For example, if you're into video games, check out the Entertainment forums, and check the top - there are subforums and there's one just for video game talk. There's also Roleplaying, Battling, Art, and all kinds of things. You can also check out the Cults forum - cults are just what we call our groups of people who share common interests. Like said, Chit-Chat's also a good place just to talk about anything, definitely pop in over there. :) Hope you have fun!

I kind of do the same thing. I will be REALLY into something for a little while and then drop it like a hotcake and not pick it back up for months or even years. I think it's kind of natural to be like that with some things. So, anyway...you are wanting to know how to make friends here, yes? Do you mean you want to know how you literally add someone to your friend list or you want to know how to get to know people and be amiable? If it's the latter, it's just like you would anywhere. :)

Both I guess, I'm trying to make friends with similar interests. Even though I play on a few other online games I hardly ever have friends on them. I'm not really sure how to talk to others. Sometimes I talk a lot, other times I hardly talk at all. On more than one occasion I have said something that offended someone else and suddenly I never hear from them again. I don't purposefully try to offend others. I might say something the wrong way sometimes or someone may simply take offense to what I say. Now I'm somewhat scared to talk to other people. I thought that while learning how to make friends here I might find friend that play the same other games as I do and possibly learn how to talk to others in general.

Well, making friends online can be difficult, can't it? It's hard when you only have text to look at instead of body language, tone of voice, and character clues. The only thing I can say is that if someone stops being your friend after you offend them once, they aren't very good friends. Besides, it's the duty of a friend to let the other know when something they say makes them feel bad. Then it's that same person's duty to put it behind them if the other person apologizes and makes an effort not to do it again. /rant

So, what games do you play?

Um... poptropica, aqworlds, neopets, dragcave, a few others that I can't remember the names of right now, and just about any other game I find interesting. I don't play the ones that I listed that often at the moment. One of the reasons why I came back here was because I currently lost interest in everything else... Usually when I'm online I'm on deviantart or reading random fanfics.
