I didn't know if this should go in the main suggestion section or this sub form either way it can be moved. I also don't know if this topic has been made before, I looked through the past few pages and only seen one but that one only touched on one of my three suggestions.
I like to browse Adopt R Us, quite a bit actually. I enjoy finding pets with nice or unique names, zapping them to a nice color/species, and rehoming them. It's a hobby. But there have been a few thing i've noticed about the adoption center over the years that strike me as odd design choices.
Firsts things first I love that you guys have a search function to allow us to search specific species and color combos. However I didn't even know this feature existed until last year, and i've been playing Subeta for 4 years. I don't know about anyone else or any other themes but I use the Darkside theme, so the link text is almost identical to the surrounding text [picture here]. And when I read the text itself I automatically assumed that I just had to click the refresh button to find something [my friend also had this problem and I had to directly point out to her where the search function was]. It didn't jump out at me right away. I only found out about the function when I read a post on the forums about searching pets, I honestly felt kinda stupid. So my first suggestion is maybe making that a bit more apparent. It doesn't have to be an overly huge button, just make it more apparent that you can search for specific pets other than just some wording that I took the wrong way [and admittedly that is partially my fault]. Like separating the search function and making it a tad bit bigger.
While its nice that we can search by species and color when you pull the drop down for species everything is jumbled up. You'll have some normal pets, then a bunch of experiments, then some more pets, and more experiments. [Picture here] It looks really messy and at times it can be hard to find the pet your looking for. My second suggestion would be to rearrange the order so that normal pets were all listed first in alphabetical order, and then the experiments were lasted after the pets in numerical order. It would just make things less confusing and easier to sort through.
Another thing my friend and I noticed is that when searching up a certain species or color not all of the available pets in that species/color show up on the page. Now I get that it would be too much for the page to load and that's understandable. The problem is that when you want to see more results you have to re-select the species or color name and do the search again and get new results. That can get a bit tedious and annoying to have to constantly go back and fill in the search fields again [at least that's how both my friend and I felt]. Coupled with the fact that the species search function is not in alphabetic order and is all jumbled up it might take a while to constantly find the pet name unless you know how its spelt and just type it in. I feel there should be a thing that saves your last search, or a simple refresh pet selection button that still looks up the color/species you want without having to change the search fields over and over.
I feel that this is a really REALLY major nitpick and I know it's been suggested before but I feel there should be a direct link to Adopt R Us on the "pets" page. It has a link that takes you to the job agency so i'm confused as to why there can't be a link that takes you to the adoption center, right next to create a pet. As of now I have to go to explore, and to Delphi to get to the adoption center. Now that's no problem for me but a person that's newer to the site might not know where to find it or might forget. It would be nice to have just a straight direct link.
-Finally, we have so many pets in the pound that, let's face it, have bad names and will probably never be adopted. Now I don't know if this is already a thing if it is you can disregard this point entirely but I feel to keep numbers a bit lower is pets that have been in the pound for over a year would be deleted and have their names cleared. If they've been in there for that long it's clear no one's going to pick them up. Then if by chance someone DOES what that name they can use it on their own pet. Again I don't know if this is a thing but I swear i've seen pets that have been in there for over a year [or at least half a year].
I know some of these could be taken as nitpicking but I still think the adoption center could be spruced up and made a bit more streamline. There are many more things that have more priority than this but I feel it had to be brought some attention. There are so many pets in the adoption center, this would just streamline the process and maybe make it easier for newer players to use.

Hi.
What have you got a wonderful and nobel hobby! :thump up:
I'm agree with you an alphabetic system to shearch the speecie will be more practical to look.
I'm also for you can choose by gender. That option isn't there at the moment.
I think it's pitty there are so much pet pounded with less fancy names in the pound because newbe's must create a pet to follow the adittorial from Sarah. After a mounth those pets becomes into the pound. If Sarah gives a link for current available fancy names, will be spare a lot of pets with a less fancy names in the pound on the long termine.
I could have sworn the dropdown used to be sorted, at least split between normal pets & experiments. Either way, support c:
Pets' gender is easy enough to change if it's not right though, a Sex Berry is only 50k. I don't really care if it was implemented, but it's not as necessary imo
,
Thank's for the tip by
I didn't know yet it exists and it's so easy to find this item too.
Hey thanks for the support guys. After a few days I added a few more points to the first post. One thing my friend and I just noticed recently and one i've been also thinking about for a while.
Though I think I could use some clarification on my last point. I don't know if this is a thing or not and if it is i'll remove it from the list.
Thanks for reading : )

plays subeta 7 whole years, never knew about the search tool until now
I totally, completely agree on the having a link somewhere point. I hardly ever use the maps / explore section anymore, as I can pretty much get to everything I need without going that route. It would be nice if there was something like that for the Adopt R Us.
I love the clear idea. There are way too many pets just sitting there and some good names too. They really should just delete those pets and free up some space. As for your other points I'm all for this its just really messy right now. Just looked at the pets in the housing and theres almost 4000 yikes thats a lot. Also I wish there was a function to change how many pets per page it brings up so its easier to look for more. Its an adoption place after all they should want to get those pets adopted easily.
I agree with all your points! Especially clearing out some of the older pets, or at least the common colored ones.
Sounds like a good plan to me! I've been here for a while myself and I only just found out about the search option. XD
I agree with all your points. It would be great to have the pound link in a more accessible spot. I've added a link to the notepad on the sidebar to make it easy for myself. That was after years (years!) of Googling "subeta adopt" because I could never remember where it was. xP
As for making the lists alphabetical, it would certainly make it more intuitive. I've often lamented that it's not. Just a heads up, though, in case you didn't know - the lists are chronological. Thinking about it that way may help you until the list gets (if ever) alphabetized. For instance, the colors Sweetheart and Storm are at the bottom of the list because they are the most recently released. Likewise with species. :)

Here's a thought. When the new color requirement achievements were released people started grabbing pets from the pound and releasing them right after. This goes against the spirit of both the pound and those achievements, so perhaps if a particular pet is pounded so may number of times it will be automatically deleted. It would have to be fairly high though, at least 5 or 6, not to interfere with pets that are being zapped and returned to the pound in hopes that people will adopt them.

I agree with all of your suggestions. I've been on Subeta on and off for a couple of years and never noticed the search feature until you pointed it out. I personally wouldn't be bothered if the option to search by gender wasn't implemented, but it is a nice suggestion.
