Any item can be stolen by random events. That's what the lock feature is for. Any item that is locked is protected from random events and the zapper.

You'll get another totem after you've been a member for two years, and then one more for every year after that.

And the lock feature is in your inventory. There's a little lock icon beneath each item, and if you click it, that will lock the item. If you scroll to the bottom of your inventory, there's a little explanation with a picture to show what I mean.
