So I had a commission completed here: http://kamilionheart.deviantart.com/art/Commission-Preview-418816271
If you click it, the image can get very large and still look fantastic. When I saved it to photobucket, the image is small: http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa347/jjee2/Subeta%20Art/Rwanae/Rwanae_zps0391a305.png
NOW, I figured no biggie, I'll just resize it with HTML... but when I tweak the width/height in the description box, ONLY THE HEIGHT WILL CHANGE! The width is permanently stuck at 639 pixels?? I do not understand this, I've resized images many times this way and it works fine but the width will not change! Is there either:
(Also: I tried the "resize" feature in photobucket but it has a small limit of 1500 pixels and didn't even change anyways)
try saving it to tinypic. photobucket has been known to screw with the sizing of images.
Ok, so when I save it to my computer, I should click on the "zoomed" version from deviantart? And it will show up that size on tinypic?
yeah, that should work. let me know if it does/doesn't.
Nope... if you look on her profile that was width="1500" and height="1577" with the new tinypic img :(
remove the width and height bit of the code. that should fix it.
This is the small size though... it's only 639x671
I am using html though should I be using subeta code? I'm using <> not []
no the html is fine. I went and uploaded to tinypic. try this
The image is actually limited to that width on the pet profile because of the size of the containing div. What you want to do is give a large width. Though that will probably bring other stuff out of center.
Still 639 pix and won't resize width... I don't get it. I'm just trying to display it until I get a profile coded (which I do need someone who can do a multi-page fully interchangeable profile if you know anyone) so if I can't resize it, it's not doomsday, just a little depressing that it's so small. Btw- when I have graphic covers made for the profile, the artist will be able to resize this img in a photoshop/sai program without distorting it? I haven't ever tinkered with img resizing in my programs so I don't know :P
they should be able to. i have no idea why it's not working, sorry. :(
I read something about that online but I didn't think subeta's stock profile would have such small containers. What would the coding be? My HTML skills are rusty and were awful to start with anyways XD lol
It's ok, thanks for the help!
It's not specifically that it's small, but the width of that div is set at 60% of whatever the size of its containing div is. Which is why it ends up not being very wide.
{ width:1000px; }
edit.
Oh and to answer the question you asked about being able to properly resize images in photoshop, that is perfectly doable. Making images smaller is easy. I usually say the bigger the better when it comes to art for pet profiles. xD
That is strange o.0 but super awesome that you knew that! I tried adding this in but it just displays it like I typed something in the description area. I also tried adding
Oh right, I hadn't thought of the fact that you didn't have any code added already. xD Sorry about that.
I think the "S" in Sonata stands for... Stupendous!!! :D It worked! Thank you!!! <3
Also- if you and your profile partner do multi-page profiles (tabbed "pages" within the profile page) and can make all the parts/images editable I would like to commission you guys! I can sketch what I'm asking for if that would be helpful :P
Lol, xD I've just coded a lot of pet profiles.
Well pet profiles are my part of the shop, and I can do tabs just fine (example). I've never actually done any where the entire content changes (if that's what you mean) but there's gotta be a first for everything. If you want you can send me an smail explaining your idea further and I can try to figure out if it's something I can do. ^_^
