Okay, first of all a couple of things:
However, this IS a complaint about those who feel that they have to denounce anyone who doesn't like the change, especially those who lost a great deal daily because of it, as "lazy bums" who would rather sit on their asses instead of playing games, restocking, etc.
News Flash: How do you think those people got the kinds of bankrolls that made the interest loss smart for them? They played games, restocked, did quests, etc. or they wouldn't have the sp to complain about losing in the first place!!!
Come on! IRL, you make some money and invest in something with an attractive interest rate so your money will make extra money. You are sure as blazes NOT a bum if that works out for you. It was your own money in the first place!
I am so tired of hearing that people shouldn't get any benefits from what they actually earned that I could scream! Since I can't duct tape these flapping mouths, I'm mad enough to flap mine about it!
Okay, ready, aim, fire, those of you out there who can't wait to jump down the throat of anyone who posts in the B&C, On this issue, frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!
Heya Rowan, been a while.
Well I am actually one of the people who like the change, not because I enjoy loosing 6/7 of my interest, and not really because I'm a sincere believer that this will magically "fix" the 'beta economy because severe inflation for some items and deflation for others are still going to be things as long as there are ways to conjure both sP and items out of thin air. I do like the fact that the playing field has been somewhat leveled between the users, though again, this isn't really that big of a deal for me personally because I just enjoy hoarding and haven't been aiming for catching up to the richest users for quite a while. I think I just like it because for me personally it somehow feels like the interest just became more fun, like every sP of interest just became worth more, and as they;ll be introducing new ways of increasing it back I'll have something to work for, which I haven't had for a while on Subeta.
That said, I understand how a lot of people, particularly those who were actually spending their sP and not just hoarding it to roll around in like me, would be annoyed and displeased at loosing a large chunk of their interest, in fact if we were to loose interest completely I'd probably loose most of the remaining drive to come here at all. What does annoy me is people who claim they've been somehow cheated or that the cut of the interest is unfair (I dunno about others but I'm surprised it took that long for it to happen, what with cutting of other ways to earn sP over the years and more ways to burn it) which you clearly don't.
Bottom line is there are annoying little twats on both sides of the equation so stay sane and have at them sister.
The voices in my head tell me things... but damn, they're useful things.
Hey, good to see you, too!
I have absolutely no problem with people liking the change or disliking it, and I do agree that's it certainly more fair than the random way, and sure, there are still plenty of ways to make sp. :D
My only problem is with the folks who insist on calling anyone who says something, or who doesn't, but has the sp for higher interest, a "lazy bum." Yep, you're right--annoying little pickers on both sides.
Don't ever leave! Keep your interest up. One of the main reasons I love it and stay here is that I have such wonderful friends! hugs
I agree.
Some people also spend real money so they can sell CSC gift cards to those of us who can't afford to spend real money. Others devote time to creating artwork to sell. Nobody woke up one morning to find that they had billions appear in their vault overnight.
I'm not against the change because the system of allocating a random percentage of interest on signing up was very unfair. I certainly couldn't have lived on my old rate of interest of 6%, though.
i agree with you, and to be honest since our userbase has changed (and grown) quite a bit over the last few years, i seem to notice a lot more... drama surrounding any big change the staff makes. i know a few users have left because of it. now i pretty much just ignore 90% and my head is in the clouds most of the time haha. and i'm not talking about general criticism, because some of that is good and helpful, etc. and that's what the feedback forum is for. i just mean drama. but i mean they did say that changes will be released in the future to increase your interest rate (besides the Morty Cards released today) so maybe that will calm enough of it :P but name-calling i'm sure will never cease, we can just wait for the next feature to come along.

I agree. In no way have I been a lazy bum. In my entire time here I've done most of my quests, vended, sold reward/vended items, and restrained myself from buying big ticket things to get where I'm at now. If I was truly a lazy bum on here I wouldn't even still be here because I'd have gotten annoyed at myself for not being able to buy things. If a couple of my small complaints about losing my 5% interest (or the fact that I can still collect about 35k in interest) makes me lazy then that lets me know of the users I don't want to interact with. Is it bad though that I want to ask them what they do daily on here and compare it with what I do?
And you know, at this point I probably would grumble if we lost the interest completely but I'd get over it. My interest is only a small drop compared to what I can make daily. Two-three games of memory or one game of the 7x7 grid of blackout and I'd have made over my interest.

You all added so many good points! I'm indifferent to the change myself, for the reasons you all mentioned, but I do understand how others are upset. It was just the "lazy bums" remarks that finally did me in. I'm glad to know there are others who have worked their tails off for what they own and may also have supported the site with their own funds as well. I do both, and I think we deserve appreciation, not name-calling if we express an opinion about a change. Good wishes to all of you!
