My ability to sleep is kinda...weird right now. Lately I've been staying up 12+ hours, with the record of 36 about 2 1/2 weeks ago (only managed to sleep 'cause of some sleeping pills).

Really sucks 'cause there's nothing to do in this itty bitty town. Playing Skyrim is always a choice, but right now I might get tired of it after a few minutes.

Have you seen a doctor? They could maybe give something/some advice other than the sleeping pills.

My sleep pattern isn't great but, hey, I'm a student. Bedtime at 2.30am is a life decision! (Though last week I realised the great difference between going to bed at this time, and not being able to fall asleep 'til that time. They feel veeeeeery different!)

I don't have the money to see a doctor. I'm lucky if I have $5 to my name (which is all I have right now actually, and I need to get a few things with that when I go to WalMart later).

Gosh that's rubbish. :C I don't know what else to suggest, other than the run of the mill milk/warm drinks (Horlicks is always the best, you might be able to find it in the States in International food aisles?) and stretches/exercise before bed. Maybe take some strategic naps during the day if you feel that way inclined? At least you'd get some sleep? C:

Doubt I could try the Horlicks, since I don't think WalMart here has it (unless it's Mexican?). Also...not sure if the warm milk thing only works when you're already tired, but I've heated it up for hot chocolate, and I didn't get sleepy.

HEY! Maybe apple juice...That used to work :D

Eeeh, Horlicks wiki says you can't get it in the US, that's a shame. :C Normally anything warm helps! Also, make sure you've eaten recently. Low blood sugar can apparently keep you up? Hehe, apple juice, never heard of that! Then again, I nearly fall asleep on the bus every single morning, because I love moving vehicles. When I was a baby and couldn't sleep, my dad used to put me in my car seat and drive around little country roads at 1am until I nodded off. It still gets me- the weirdest things work for different people. C:

Not eating recently is a bit of a problem. My mom has all the food in her apartment (no fridge/cabinet/way to cook stuff at my house, unless it's straight from a can). But otherwise, when she's up I can go get something and eat it whenever. I used to sleep every day on the school bus in the mornings with my head on the window, kinda 'thumping' along on it XD.

Might see if I can get one of those giant things of animal crackers to slowly make my way through.

Even if they don't help you sleep, I cannot see any flaw in a plan that involves eating animal crackers. :'D

Totally forgot about the animal crackers. But got some apple juice, and the thing is almost half gone. Still hasn't had enough time to kick in, but maybe it will?

I once drunk so much juice I averaged 1.2 cartons a day. Ooh, good luck! Sleep well! C:

I can't afford that habit D:. Can't afford my 71 cents every 2 days (maybe ever day) habit of the cheap walmart diet coke. It seemed to help a little, but not really enough.

Have you tried a hot bath or chamomille tea? When I have trouble sleeping, I just run a hot bath and put in some lavender bath salts and soak for a bit. Tea's good too, as long as it's an herbal with no caffeine. I've heard warm milk works too.

i'd help give suggestions, but i'm going on less than 3 hrs of sleep myself. insomnia hit on thursday night/friday morning and again on friday night/saturday morning. tho when my sleep returns, i find that not consuming any caffeine after 12pm helps.
