And half of the tumblr population are shitting on yahoo and constantly reblogging fake tweets.
Lord help me. I don't know how to deal with all these idiots
What blogs are you watching? I was unaware with this due to the sole use of tumblr as a way to collect images and... ermm... browse nsfw content.
I am sure there are methods of avoiding said persons whom post such content. And on the subject of the purchase by Yahoo(a topic I am not familiar with as well as tumblr's state of finances), are there any alternative options being promoted that are worthy of mention such as another company acquiring tumblr? The titled of it be saved is something that remains to be seen in the unforeseen future. I prefer to wait and see what happens instead of taking a stance/getting upset at moronic stances.
And honestly, if Tumblr were to fail then who cares? There will just be another blogging alternative, as there are plenty of underrated blogging platforms.
if you see people being dumb about yahoo on your dash I feel like you probably made a mistake somewhere along the line in choosing to follow these people. if not then I wouldn't intentionally look for it, they really don't have anything valuable to say and tbh I hope Yahoo buys Tumblr so they leave
I'm really not sure what you're trying to say with that second paragraph.
Tumblr was losing money bad, thanks to needed to store the hundreds of million of posts people make on it. That kind of storage was costing too much money, and tumblr's always been largely ad free.
Yahoo bought it for 1.1billion, and basically saved it from completely disappearing. From what I hear, yahoo is interested in a foothold in our generation, and tumblr is the way to do it. Karp is still supposed to be the CEO and yahoo isn't planning any actual changes.
Yahoo bought tumblr on the 19th. I hope these people leave too, just to bring some intelligence to the site lol
I'm trying to recommend that you should unfollow people that you do not like. That way you don't complain about people making bad complaints.
My bad, I meant if anyone was advocating that another company purchase tumblr to provide needed infrastructure in order to solve tumblr's problems.
No. From what I've seen, the people complaining are either worried about their porn disappearing, or they don't want tumblr to become 'popular'. Hipsters man
Hipsters will unfortunately be hipsters.
But people worried that porn will disappear? Please, the internet is for porn. One does not make porn that is posted online disappear.
The main cause for that worry is someone decided to be a little troll and made a few fake tweets about yahoo making tumblr 'family friendly'. People on the internet being who they are, none of them have actually gone to yahoo's twitter page to see that the tweets are in fact fake.
Lulz, that's amusing. I'll have to read up on this on reddit.
It's great that they're helping:) Sad that some of tumblrs users are scared of change n acts up because of it:P
To be honest I don't mind as long as Yahoo doesn't come up with some rule that users aren't allowed to post NSFW content anymore... but I guess another bad thing that could happen is a change of dashboard layout, and adds on the blogs/dashboard, that sort of thing. So many websites are updating to new awesome designs and they're really just crap. COUGHflickrwhichisownedbyyahooCOUGH
I don't know what to think of it but as long as they don't screw the site up more than it already is, I don't care, tbph.

I wonder, if Yahoo had been successful in buying DailyMotion like they tried before the French gov blocked it, would they still have even went for Tumblr?
Tumblr is a crud site to me but I don't want Yahoo to go under any time soon so I hope the acquisition works out for them

Yahoo has said they don't intend on blocking or banning NSFW content. Someone suggested there might be an option similar to deviantArt, where there's a little check box when you're posting something to mark it as NSFW/Mature content
