I have been noticing that several of the main shops are completely full of items nearly all the time. A lot of the stuff that I usually RS - like r60-80 items are now less than what I got them for when I use autoprice.

Is this normal?

Yes. This is normal. This happens for all kinds of things. Price will fall eventually when it gets old. I hate this though. Doesn't it feel like they cheated with you?

^ How would you know it's normal here if you just joined yesterday and haven't restocked one item?

I'm pretty sure how often the shops restock, and what rarity of items that stock, is based on how many users are online. So during an event, like now, when there's 1500 users online: yes, the shops are going to restock a lot with rarer items. :)

She has the Gold Account trophy so she must have had a GA at some point...

first, how would you know thats normal? being here for not even a week doesnt mean you know what's "normal"

I remember when about a year (or more) ago in shops there were only a few items for each restock. Now? I'm surprised how much there is! And I like this :D But is that normal? I don't know, maybe now it is :)

when i first started, i just explored around and asked people in the SB questions about things i didnt know. i actually still do that, so i think thats the best thing to do :)
