I'm going to give this a few days before I make a trip to the doctor as I no longer have insurance and I hope to avoid going for no reason, but in the meantime maybe one of you have experienced this and can give me a little advice?

I was walking the dog on Thurs. I believe, and I just had on my slippers and I stepped on a rock. It was just a bit tender with no problems at all until this morning. (At least at this point I'm assuming this is the problem).

Went to be at 10:30 last night just fine. Woke up this morning at 5:30 and I couldn't even walk. My foot hurts so damn bad I don't even know how to describe it. It's more on the side of my foot/bottom edge. It's not the whole foot, just the back quarter. Weird thing is, this morning I was trying to massage it to see if it would help, and I got this sort of shooting/sharp pain in my ankle on the same side when I touched the bottom of my foot. (Outside right ankle and a teeny bit towards the front of the ankle, still on the right). Before today I remember pushing around on the bottom of my foot right after stepping on the rock and I did not have any pain at all, I could just still tell where I stepped on it. I also cannot really move my ankle without extreme pain either. I don't physically see a bruise, and it seems a teeny bit swollen (my foot on the bottom), but I'm not too sure. It hurts to even have that side of my foot against anything. (It actually just hurts no matter what, even if it's not touching anything.) I haven't really done much, just some errands this weekend. I know I didn't sprain it or kick anything, especially since it was fine when I went to bed.

I've been googling like mad for similar things, and all I can seem to find is heel spurs and plantar fasciitis, and I know its not either of those things as the symptoms do not fit.

Anyone have anything similar happen? I just want to possibly have something to go off of if in the end I do end up at the doctors. Plus I really hate limping around and I'm a big baby. :c

You may have sprained it or twisted it. Lot's of ice and rest it if you can.

It could be some very deep bruising or maybe you popped a blood vessel deep in your foot. Unfortunately that's all I have since you said that you did not sprain it.

It could be anything. A break, a soft tissue injury (which sounds a lot more likely) or something more exotic.

Lots of rest- maybe keep it elevated and possibly see if warping it with an ace bandage helps.

Sorry I'm not of more use =(
