Has anyone on Subeta became a State Patrolman?

Anyways, I've been heavily debating a career in law enforcement, more specifically a State Patrol Officer. My mom has been pushing me to do it. Thing is, I'd like to find someone who has actually attended one of these academies to see what the entrance test is like and what-not.

I have my reservations because it's all the way in Denver, CO. I live in CO Springs, and I am not that fond of Denver. I'll have to stay at the Academy during school of course, but I'll hate life if I'm plugged into the Denver Metro area for work. It's two years before I can transfer back to the Springs if there is room. Even though it's like 2 hours to Denver, that seems far away from my mom and friends. T.T

Another thing is that a lot of people I've told this to, they just laugh in my face. They don't think I can do it, that I'm too small. I'm 5'2" and about 100 pounds, yeah I'm small but I'm fierce. Even a customer at work was laughing about it when he overheard the conversation I was having with a co-worker. Said the first thug I encountered I couldn't handle myself. Like what the hell? First of all you don't even know me.

My mom always wanted me to join the Air Force and be a drill sergeant, says I'm bossy enough. They'd laugh until I opened my mouth then they'd shut up.

Bleh. I guess I've just reached a point in my life where I need to figure my future out. Like, stat. I'm 23 years old, and have given up on my dream to be a Vet Tech I can't afford the school and it's 60 hours a week on top of a full time job, when would I sleep?
