I know it might seem like a minor thing at first, but... You know how sometimes user shops are overly decorated or has the sidebar removed? For questers like me, those types of user shops can become a pain in the neck, plus they can be major eyesores to some... Sparkly pink kitties, anyone?

Now, I don't want to take away customization freedom, but I'd like it if people had the option to blacklist some shops so that the shops won't show up on their shop search, allowing them to quest or browse quicker without having a screeching halt or major lag thanks to someone's over-decorated and cluttered user shop. And it's not like we're gonna take special care to memorize which shop names we want to avoid and keep a watch while we're trying to quest.

Plus I'm sure there's some users that would feel mild satisfaction blacklisting the shops of annoying or rude users they don't like so they don't give the rude ones a single sP, haha.

Does that make sense? What do you think?

Somewhere you can block css in user shops so it doesn't load images and layouts like that, it's been nearly 3 years since I changed that so I don't remember where it is XD somewhere under user prefs I'm sure, I'll see if I can find it. [edit] Yeah, here, disable the display user layouts in shops bit.

There's already an option to disable the css in usershops here, so the annoying shop layout thing is already taken care of.

And as far as avoiding a user's shop just because they seem annoying, that seems a bit silly honestly. x)

I actually do like the images, just not the completely redecorating the entire page thing, which is why I don't want to completely remove them, just block select pages... Oh well.

Well, if it's some elitist asshole who keeps hoarding and re-pricing things at ridiculous prices and/or acts like a god over restocking or the like... Yeah, you'd want to refrain from giving him any of your sP. I've already met a few of those types.

I actually agree. I don't want to block all the user shops, I like seeing little pictures and such put on top, but one of my biggest pet peeves is when they block out the sidebar, so I can't use my Shop Search widget. I try to remember which shops are the worst offenders and actively avoid them, even if they're the cheapest.

I know, it sounds petty, and I can't see it ever being implemented, but man, I wish for something like that every time I do quests.

Exactly. Removing select pages, rather than just disabling the whole thing. :)

I actually would really like this kind of option. It would make questing so much less infuriating sometimes.

As long as there was no notification sent to the person you're blocking that you blocked them, I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't see any reason why the person you're blocking needs to know that someone blocked their shop, as it's not nearly as personal as blocking someone's whole account, and would undoubtedly lead to hurt feelings, drama, and lots and lots of forum topics about it.

Although I suppose the argument could be made that you have two options to take care of this already - removing customCSS from user shops, or blocking the user in question. They're both sort of on the extreme end, but we have them in place already.

I'm not really for this one way or another, I find anything in shops to be annoying/laggy (I mean, honestly I'm there to buy something not look at silly gifs/images or be dazed by blinding colors/sparkly things) so I've had shop layouts blocked since that became an option.

Anyways, that said -- does blocking a user block actually their shop as well o__O? I... didn't think it would (I mean hell, you can still giftbox/send items to the blocked user as long as the user has those options enabled), however now you have me curious.

If it does, then I suppose that would be an alternative to this suggestion. I've heard of people blocking super chatty users who post a lot on site event boards, just to cut back on the spam to muddle through... so I suppose the shop search would be no different.

If you're really awesome at CSS (like me ;)), you can already mark shops on the shop search differently depending on their id.

td.sp-table a[href*="shopid=666"] { visibility: hidden; }

This is most convenient if you have a user styles manager like Stylish, where you can easily edit the style with just a few clicks.

td.sp-table a[href*="shopid=666"], td.sp-table a[href*="shopid=44444"], td.sp-table a[href*="shopid=131313"] { visibility: hidden; }

I'd like to block my own shop. I hoard for the recycle beast and will sometimes buy up all of an item from like 50 shops on the shop search.. and it's annoying when I have something in stock myself and it keeps stopping me giving me the message that I can't buy from my own shop :(
