I've been using Wacom Bamboo Fun for nearly 4 years. Then it just died on me and now I'm left high and dry. :(

So now I'm just basically dithering between getting Bamboo again or moving up to Intuos. I really don't need it to be super high tech since I've been living off that Bamboo Fun all these years but I DO need a zoom ring of some kind, and pressure sensitivity. I'm just really wondering if the Intuos is really worth it? I've heard some pretty swell things about it, but I don't know if it's really necessary if you get my drift.

Price is...kinda an issue for me. :P Student budget and all that.

Thank you guuuuys. :D

I've heard great things about Intous but never used one. I'm still using bamboo and I have no issue. So no, I don't think it's necessary. In fact the only problem I've had with my Bamboo was accidently cracking the pen in half. In a folding bed. So it was entirely my fault, not the tablet's.

However, if price is what's stopping you from getting an Intous try looking for a used or even factory refurbished one. It should cut down on the price, and so long as you're a careful shopper it ought to work just as well as a new one.

(Hi, I used to be Pearl!! xD)

If you are still looking, I don't really know much about tablets but when I asked before, I was told that it wasn't really worth upgrading to intuos unless you are buying a new one anyway (which you are, so I guess that's different? xD) because it's not that much of an upgrade that it's worth spending the extra money. I don't know how accurate that is, but just sharing what I was told! :)

Wacom bamboo is a good tablet that serves well so yeah I'd probably just get that one again if money is an issue.
