Has anyone ever used this? You have to pay for them, of course, and everything seems perfectly legit. :) I'm just always a bit tentative when spending money on the internet.

They seem to have several hundreds of games available for download, though the only ones I'm currently interested in are the Monkey Island Special Edition and the newest MI game.

http://store.steampowered.com is the link that seems to take you to the main area.

Thanks for any help/ advice/ shared experiences. :)

I use steam, its great and very handy if you use your laptop and a desktop. Its perfectly legit, Ive bought many games on steam. The beauty is that once you download the game to your account you can play it anywhere as long as you log into your account. It also runs in the background on my computer daily and it does not interfere with anything else.

You can also add friends who also have steam, its really helpful for Valves games like Counter-strike (which I play almost as much as I do subeta XD).

I use Steam, might be getting TF2 from there. If only if I could afford the entire Valve package. xD

I bought 'The Orange Box' on steam ;o

I really love using it for my non-steam games like Anno 1404 or Prince of Persia as well :D It has great in-game support ;o

Thank you all for the tips. :D Much appreciated, and I feel much better now about using it. I think I might treat myself to the remake of MI for now, but I'll make sure to look into their other games at some point. I've heard great things about The Orange Box. :P Portal looks awesome.

- the achievements that Steam offers with their games make them that little more appealing. Like Team Fortress 2, which has many cute/cool/lollable achievements to get xD Also the extra stuff they bring out (like the 'Meet the Scout/Heavy/Soldier/...' movies they bring out, the occasional events (halloween event, soldier VS Demoman event...)

Steam is a great community :D Also when you play for example Assassin's Creed, and can't find THAT particular feather, you can use the in-game browser on steam, it's really great :D

Is Portal 2 coming out this Holiday Season? o___o oh my gawd! I loved the first one xD 'This was a triumph... I'm making a note here: great success...' :'D

I never even noticed Assassin's Creed was in their lists. I've wanted that game for AGES. :D Might search around for a cheaper price elsewhere, though, since £20 seems a bit steep for my poor bank account lol.

- I don't know if steam sells AC2 :D I just picked a random game to illustrate how well Steam works in-game ^^

I love steam, personally. So handy for lazy people like me, who dont feel like wasting gas going to Best Buy to look for games they probably dont have :B
