A few years ago I roleplayed on a site. My very first role play was one where a character would choose an egg from a nest. The egg would then hatch into a random animal. Of course, the egg will give hints of what is inside. For example, "The black egg seems to ooze black illiquid small cracks along it's shell." the animals hatched would be something like "A small black fox , her fur is very oily and gives off a dark look. She seems to be gifted in the art of dark magic" (Cheesy I know).

I would love to start something like that again but I have no plot. Perhaps someone can shoot some ideas this way or perhaps help out with it?

How about all of the animals in the world suddenly die, but each one (female, of course) lays an egg with a totally different species, similar to your description. And that's all I can think of in 5 seconds. Horrible, right? or... Large egg sacs are found all over the world; in volcanoes, under the ocean, mountains, etc. And the species are hatched according to their location.

That sounds great but I need an actual plot...What would happen after they hatch and the character has them? I see it going nowhere xD.

Anyway, quick plot idea- In native one native american creation myth, a crow cracked open an egg, and humans came out, right? Well, going off of 's idea, maybe the entire earth in a mass extinction event just goes completely uninhabited. Everything just dies, and slowly over time plants grow back, modern cities are now over grown forest or waste lands. Well, a bird like creature, or several, some deity decides the earth needs to be repopulated, so for each animal that ever was, an egg was layn and hidden somewhere. So when all the animals were ready and in their eggs, the task was given to humans to find the eggs and hatch them, so a new human race could form that would live along side animals. So the deities before the extinction event, trap however many humans in ice, eggs, crystals, what ever, and they wake up much much much later on to a world of just eggs and deities?

This sounds fun! I have an idea, different from this extinction one... How about this? A genetic research facility was trying to create new races using genetic manipulation/combination/whatever, but was broken into and several of the eggs created were stolen? While being pursued, the thief stashed the eggs somewhere but the thief was caught. Some kids found the eggs and each took one home to secretly hatch, and now the government or research facility or whoever is looking for them? Just an idea!

Plot fail on my part. I has none. However, if you ever need help creating the eggs, I'm all hands on deck on that shit. <3
