okay well i have gimp but i was just wondering if anyone had a program that would enable them to take text off of an image without taking the background with it?

i need help and i'd highly appreciate and worship you if you could do so.

There's no program that would just magically do what you're asking. The text would have to be deleted and then the background would need to be re-drawn in the blank spaces.

But it seems to me like the only reason you would want to remove the text is because the graphic isn't yours and you want to take it without being caught... am I correct? -_- Art theft = BAD.

: ROFL. no. i made that background for somebody by myself and she wanted a different style of text and i forgot to save a blank file before i added the blocky text.

Lol, I just assumed that someone with graphic knowledge would know there's no tool that could possibly do that. Does GIMP have layers like Photoshop does? I just always save a PSD version of all my graphics, so the layers are always intact, and I assumed other people would do the same. :P

Haha, that's cool. I just see someone wanting to remove someone else's name from a graphic and my art thief senses start tingling. :P :P

Does GIMP have a magic wand type thing? You could use that to select just the text and delete it, but it will still just be blank canvas behind. You could colour in the blankness or something?

and yes it does. i tried doing that, and i got the blank canvas. i tried fixing it but since the clouds and whatnot were a paintbrush, it was hard to re-cover it without it looking like it had been edited.

but my boyfriend got it off and i was able to fix it.
