Sunlight could no longer stave off the voracious hunger of the beast. Lilith ventured out of her dorm, carefully covered in multiple layers of clothing to ward off the rays of the setting sun from her vulnerable skin. The only piece of flesh that was unveiled were her eyes, which slightly burned from the dull light exposed to them; it wasn't enough harm to be of any bother to Lilith, however.

Lilith scoured the outskirts of the school, searching for a soul to consume that wouldn't be missed too much by the world. She crouched low to the ground and took a whiff of the earthly air. All around up above were the smells of small birds and squirrels. Ahead was a heavy scent of rabbits, a whole family of them by what it smelled like. None of these interested Lilith's appetite. Lilith wished for bigger game, but the best place to get that was at the school, and she couldn't eat the other students (as much as she wished she sometimes could).

Giving up trying to find her breakfast early before the other vampires began their prowl for food, Lilith sat on the ground crossed-legged and put on a pair of shades to face the sunset. For the next hour she sat unflinchingly like a statue, patiently waiting for night. She was always a better hunter with the moon to her back instead of the sun; in the dark she could use her wings and stalk from the skies like a bird of prey. And so she waited, waited for her turn to be the regent of the world.

Bic: Kimberley walked around the school grounds searching for her childhood friend Louis. She had heard that he was starting at this school today but so far there had been no sign of him. She sighed before giving up her search and leaping into a nearby tree. She lay back against the thick trunk and shut her eyes, hoping to catch up on some sleep before it got too dark. She was slowly slipping behind with her schoolwork and if she didn't sort out her grades now, the consequences wouldn't be good. Her eyes snapped open when she heard a noise below her. She peered over the edge of the branch and saw a girl with black hair beneath her. Judging by her scent, she was a vampire. She jumped down from the tree and stared at the girl. "Hey there!" She said. "Are you new here?"

Louis looked around at his new surroundings. Wondering why he was meant to spent a great portion of his life here, he sat down on the soft grass and lay back, the wind softly tousling his brown hair. He sighed contently as he stared up at the blue sky, trying to spot pictures in the fluffy white clouds. He was supposed to meet his childhood friend Kimberley but he deemed that impossible as there were so many students in this abnormally big school. The only thing he could do was wait.

Dusk walked out of the school and sighed. Another stressful day and she had a feeling it wasn't even nearly over yet. Her hunch was right; the school bullies ran out of the school and knocked her to the ground. They ran off laughing, not even bothering to check if Dusk was okay. She growled quietly as she got up. There was a massive hole in her fishnet stockings and she fingered it gently as she examined it, not wishing to damage them anymore. "One day they'll pay..." She muttered. "I just hope my full spirit powers kick in by then..." She walked over to the orchard and sat down in the shade of the old oak tree to watch the slowly setting sun.

Liam gazed up at the sky and sighed contently. Days like this were so peaceful which was a nice change from the usual stress filled day. He sighed again before reluctantly walking back towards the school. He had to attend an extra-curricular music class after school as he apparently showed 'talent'. Suddenly a girl with bright red was knocked down by a group of boys who Liam recognized as the school bullies. He thought about walking over to her but just as he began to make his way over there, she walked away towards the orchard. He then decided to go and join the light-haired boy who was lying on the grass. He sat next to him and looked up at the sky. "Hey! That one looks like a dragon!" He exclaimed as he pointed at a long white dragon-shaped cloud.

Dammit, Lilith thought when she heard a voice acknowledge her followed by an all too recognizable scent. Apparently she wasn't the only vampire out and about like she had originally thought. She turned her head and unveiled her glaring eyes so this stranger could see that they were not welcomed by her. "No," she said sternly in response to their question, though she did not care to further elaborate. Lilith covered her eyes once again and turned her head back to face the sun, seemingly ignoring the girl. "You're up quite early," she commented without looking at her.

Kimberley stepped backwards in surprise. The vampire's tone had surprised her as she had thought that she was being friendly towards her. "Oh, well, in that case how long have you been here?" She asked as she stepped forward and sat down beside the vampire. "I'm just trying to get a glimpse at the new students and I'm looking for my friend Louis." She said. "Why are you up at this time?"

Louis sat up as he heard footsteps approaching him. "Um, hey." He said as he saw a fair-haired boy staring at him. The boy lay down on the grass and pointed out shapes in the clouds. He lay back down and looked up at the clouds. "Yeah..." He rolled his eyes and wished that Kimberley would hurry up. He wasnt really socially active.

Lilith wasn't any more pleased when the other vampire continued to push having a social conversation with her, but this time she didn't let her discontent show in her face and appeared as emotive as a wall. "I came here a year ago," she simply answered, ignoring any comment the vampire had about her personal self and went straight to answering the next question, "I was hoping to catch a bite to eat before the other vampires woke, but I guess that plan didn't work." Lilith finally made eye contact with Kimberley with a frown.

Eldaline stalked through the other students, one long, slim leg after the other. She toted her two medium-sized suitcases after her, with another bag slung over her shoulder. She couldn't wait to start school here. She'd received tons and tons of letters from her best friend, Ethan, through his two years as a student. She used to have a small crush on him, but since they were different..species, she stopped it as soon as she could. With hawk-like eyes scanned the area around her, searching for her friend. Finally she rested on a, smiling, familiar face. Ethan stood about ten yards from her, looking like a total dork, and with a small bouquet of flowers in his hands. She practically ran over to him, stopped a few feet away, and threw her arms around him.

Ethan jumped back as Eldaline, his best friend, shot herself into his arms. He laughed at her, then wound his own arms around and hugged her. He thought of her as family, and was glad to see his "little sister" in good terms. "Long time no see, eh?" He asked as he pulled back and looked her over. "Dang straight!" Eldaline told him, her hands going to her hips. "I've missed you. You haven't written me in forever, you jerk!" She punched him in the arm good-naturedly. "So to pay me back, you must help me to my dorm!" Ethan sighed over-dramatically, then walked over and grabbed up both of her suitcases. "Fine, but after that go for a walk with me? We need to catch up pronto."

The two made their way to Eldaline's room in dorm number three, dropped off her suitcases, then raced each other to the forest edge. It was darker out now, which was good for Ethan. He shouldn't have been spending so much time out under the sun, even if the sun wasn't that strong. They wasted no time finding a path, and set out for a stroll.

Eldaline shuffled along next to Ethan, and glanced over at him. "So tell me," She demanded. "What lucky lady have ya got your eye on now?" She loved, loved, loved to tease him about this certain subject. It was all too much fun. Ethan groaned, and rolled his eyes. "Really? We honestly have to talk about this right now? Nuh-uh. You need to learn some manners.' He playfully nudged her in the side. "Besides.. there's no one. So it doesn't matter." "Okay..." She let the topic drop, and the two continued their walk in silence, just enjoying the others' presence.

Liam yawned and sat up before giving himself a quick dusting down. "It's getting kinda late. I think I might go hunting in the school's forest." He said, blushing slightly as his stomach growled furiously. "Feel free to join me." He phased into his werewolf form and dashed into the forest searching for small mammals that he could devour.

Kimberley smiled. "It's pretty weird around here, huh?" She sighed. "And at times, it can be pretty dangerous." She looked at the ground and traced a picture into the patch of dirt with a stick. Her brother Zac had been brutally murdered at this school many years ago. She wanted to forget the series of events that she had been a part of but for some reason she just couldn't let them go. "I'm afraid all the vampires are awake now." She laughed. "There's some pretty big game in the school's forest. I can show you the perfect place to hunt if you want."

Ooc: You're welcome :neko: Bic: Once the sun had set Dusk got up and did a few stretches. It was time for her daily forest hunt and she was starving. She dashed into the forest and flew into the tallest tree. She always used this tree as you had a great view of the entire forest from this very tree. Her senses were highly alert in the night and today there were some fresh scents that caught her attention. "Elf..." She said. "And vampire..." Her hair flowed behind her as she flew back down to the ground. She crept after the elf and vampire, keeping a safe distance so that she wasn't detected.

Louis looked at the boy again as he offered to take him hunting. "Thanks but I'll have to pass. I'm waiting for my friend." He watched the boy morph before running off into forest. He looked back up at the sky which had now blackened and was littered with bright flashing stars. He was fascinated by the various constellations that were visible today. Then his stomach growled. "On second thoughts...." He morphed into a fox and took up pursuit of the werewolf.

"I've seen weirder," Lilith said with a shrug. To her, this school was boring and dull, standing as nothing more than an obstacle for her to overcome before she could fully experience the true nature of the outside world. Her cloak fluttered with a soft buzz like an insect's wings, becoming excited when night began to consume the sky, but a shift in the breeze wafted in new scents that made her crinkle her nose. Other predators were already stalking the woods, just as the other vampire had said.

Lilith's eyes brightened with a more welcoming look at the mention of a good hunting ground. This vampire might actually be worth keeping around after all. "Show me," she said in a tone that almost sounded like a command.

Ethan studied Eldaline as they walked in silence. She had really grown up in the last two years they've been apart. Not only physically, but mentally as well. They both had. He missed her these past years. Yes, Eldaline had written him but he would have liked to she her. If only she didn't move so much.. Another matter was quickly becoming known to him: his empty stomach. Ethan was a vampire, but he was also one-fourth human. He needed both blood and food, but not as much as full humans did. About one meal a day was all he needed to sustain life and live comfortably. He had put off feeding to meet Eldaline. He was already starting to feel weak, and he knew he would have to hunt soon. "Uh Ellie, I need to.. take care of some stuff. Do you care if I lea-" Ethan stopped short. He froze in place, and sniffed the wind which was blowing up from behind him. He smelled something, no someone. He spun around and searched the tree line. "Let's go." He told Eldaline as he dashed in front of her, taking her arm, and leading her quickly down the path. Ethan hadn't even stopped to think that other vampires would also be looking for a meal. He didn't know all of them, and some he didn't trust at all. It was so stupid of him to endanger her like this..

Eldaline gasped as her friend Ethan suddenly grabbed her and towed her down the forest path. "Wait, Ethan!" She cried out as she stumbled and fought to keep up with him. Further and further they went, and it wasn't long before the came to a small clearing. She ripped her arm away, stomped over to a fallen log, and plopped down. She huffed, and crossed her arms over her chest. "Tell me what this is about, or I'm not moving." Eldaline huffed again, and her eyebrows creased in the middle.

Liam looked behind him as he heard someone or something running almost beside him. It was a small fox and judging by the scent emitting from it, it was the light-haired boy from earlier. He barked a greeting and then let out a low howl as he caught more scents. An elf and a vampire were close by as well as something else that had an unfamiliar scent. He ducked lower and moved slowly through the undergrowth.
