I have the Night Sky Fruit in my inventory and have been to the North Antechamber several times but have never been offered any way to give the fruit to the guy.

How do you give the fruit? it doesn't take the fruit. Nothing happens

You have to give him the Sunrise Fruit :)

Once you have the Sunrise fruit in your inventory you just visit the old man and it'll automatically be taken and you'll get an achievement
