General:

Recently I'd given up on making threads like this because to be quite frank I'd become quite bitter about the response, I am grateful a number of these threads have been listened to an items made based on them, I'm well aware that an artist has had to dedicate time and effort to the items, however whenever they're executed I find myself feeling let down, often the items are, to be quite frank, almost unusable, despite how much I might WANT to use them, and invariably shortly after a more mainstream item gets released that looks incredible with gorgeous detail and I'm left thinking... why do I bother? Unless it's mainstream it's not going to have the time put into it, and with the coming of CWs I fell to making what I wanted for myself, but that doesn't change the fact that I do think these things would be a benefit to the site, and I do wish they were more widely available.

The most obvious examples of the contrast between item executions would be Major Drills and the recent Fashion Yurt releases. I don't expect two artists to draw in the same style nor do I expect CS or limited items to be of the same quality as 'free' quest items, but I do expect a certain level of effort and verisimilitude.

The ones that really get me, the ones that have been a pet hate of mine since they were released, the and recolours. They're from Major Drills, they're military, why the foop do they look like something I'd throw on to go to the shops? Yes all trousers wrinkle, but starched, pressed and well ironed trousers shouldn't look that scrunched up. And yet look at the attention to detail on the ? Or the ? The trousers don't need lots of visual details and tiny add ons, they just need to look like that they're supposed to be. The same goes for the irons which don't even appear to be buttoned up correctly as the far pocket is well below the fore one. I keep my shirts badly folded in a drawer, and they still don't look as messy and rumpled as these ones and I certainly make sure they're pressed before wearing them to something important.

MIL isn't all I'm interested in and I'll get to that, my point here is simply: please, pay attention to details, currently I'm left thinking that items on the masculine end are released purely to shut us up as the standards always seem lower than for feminine items, whether it's the patterns used, the quality of the art, or just making the items be what they say on the tin.

Another point: male versions of female items (god I need a better way of writing that...) something I noticed during the Peekaboo event was that there were a lot of patterns on the dresses and feminine clothing items that I'd LOVE to see on masculine items, if all the dresses in Fashion Yurts had been released with shirts in matching patterns etc... I'd have bought them all, instead I bought nothing, the 'male' shirts we did get seemed... odd in comparison, plain and with strange contrast, they looked rushed in comparison, I don't understand why.

Layer-ability is a constant issue particularly for trousers that puff out. When I made my desert tiger set I wanted the shirt and trousers to layer irrespective of which one was over the top and I checked it against multiple boots as I went along (in this case I checked it against ones /I/ was most likely to use cos they were made for me, but I also checked against well fitting ones. Haan made his set with the Chipper Leather Boots in mind. I also have no issues with Hades' and wear them a lot too. However the which came out ages ago have always been a struggle to use, there are a lot more boots that layer with them now thankfully, but the style and design has always been a hard match, not to mention their weird stitching, waist band and cuffs.

Concepts:

We have Major Drills and we have SAI and we have Blackmoon, we have 3 things that by all rights should be delivering everything I could ever want in terms of items and clothes and yet we barely see hide nor hair of them. This thread came about from a discussion on how to make me spend my money and CSC so that's what I'll be focusing on.

One of my favorite things about this kind of stuff is that it can really blur the lines between fashion and practicality, even the stuff that ISN'T particularly practical can give the illusion of being so, and can be really pushed into the area's of unisex and non-binary which is something I REALLY want to see more of, we had some nice items released the other year which looked like military coats... until I blinked and realized they were dresses...

Released as part of the CS Boutique and done with the same level of care and attention to detail, both aiming for OTT fashion and more cut and dry pseudo military, I'd be all over this like fleas on a stray dog, you couldn't stop me spending cash on this stuff. Much of the older style stuff harking back to the Great War and WW2 could even be linked in with Masq' if you so desired.

Sci-Fi We have Calvin Blackmoon, inventor genius, sitting high in his citadel doing fuck all all year round. WTH is he doing up there? Why does he fly around? Why does he do nothing during Masq? Is his factory making him any money any more? My theory? He's been coming up with non-sense outfits and hoping to make a comeback in response to the nostalgia of steamwork. If you don't want nonsensical body suits, belts, armour plates, thingies and wassnames idk what to tell you, you want cogs but not strappy thinges and badges for companies that never existed? Not to mention the possibilities for bgs... and SO MUCH LAYERING.

We have an entire department on the subject, why don't we have any secret agent gadgets? Modern weapons? Briefcases with cuff links? Mysterious red buttons?

For SAI there might be minimal clothing, but there are a lot of gear and gadget possibilities, and high tech gadgets don't come cheap, it'd make sense for them to be cash shop.

Since we already have an achievement for getting a job with SAI, I'd like to see this as an unlockable set of items, still buyable from other users, but if you want to get them 'legitimately' you have to put in the effort to get a set to SAI-job-level first. Acting as an incentive to put that money/sP into the site first, and expanding on the site canon just a wee bit. If Major Drills handles the military, maybe SAI could handle things like police and similar non-standard military-esque forces, with more focus on the 'sinister'. Nine Tailed Fox yes? Not just clothing/wearables but actual weapons for the battlers too, books and manuals on code breaking, interrogations, most secret files etc...

Military Proper: For this I'd prefer to focus on cash shop trunks. With one (male or female set) focused on a nice crisp version and the other on a battle damaged version of various uniforms, not from any one country or era, with additional weapons and items and backgrounds.

Not gonna lie, my need for single and double knee pads is getting stronger.

There is, to the best of my knowledge ONE beret on site in a military style, and it was the first CW I ever made . There are a number of things that could be made into great wardrobe staples with recolours of a 'male' or unisex style.

Whoa, that's a load of concept ideas!! I hadn't paid much attention to those Drills items before, but I see what you mean with that crumpled look on the trousers, and the way that pocket looks really out of alignment :( Considering they're meant to be military ones, I can't imagine Major Drills being too happy if his recruits came dressed like that....

I do love the look of those military coats (and that's definitely something that would work well for female and male HAs), but I wanted to say a particular "yes please" to the secret agent stuff -

As a person who aimed to serve and went through a hell of a bad time when it didn't work out as planned (week 7/day 3 out of the 8 week bootcamp, to sum it up xD), I can admit to only having one OC/pet that's kinda sorta militarish and he's set in a desolate future setting so thankfully he has some fuel options.

I've flirted with military OCs but yeah basically there's dog tags and... CWs as options which really has yet to inspire me to bust out that ol' thinking cap and start looking for movies on netflix.

I like where this board is going though, and later tonight after work I would LOVE to add some sexyass uniforms to this board okay.

I'd also love ITEMS. Like, military tank item + background in the CS gimme at least two okay? Fighter jets, stealth bombers, all terrain vehicles, BIG DOG OKAY, make these all 150-250 backgrounds with different terrains?? These are appealing because of not only backgrounds and military but also great garb for mechanic TCs!

Also can we talk about past and present military swag? Binoculars, snipers, modern types of guns, bazookas, morose code thingies, carrier pigeons, war medals (I know we have afew but ahhhm I think some are like pink.... Just... sayin'), purple hearts (great nod?), ranking patches and/or pins, seabags, radiation equipment, BIG RIDICULOUS GLASSES (yes anyone blind like me still gets to sport those), canteens (you sleep with it basically), freshly ironed stack-o-skivvies?

That's not even touching special services and the likes, either. So much training guides, top secret documents they're cool plus a seller to masochistic book collectors, and so on.

I have 9 pets that are soldiers/military directly, another 8 that could use some stuff like this more or less and 4 pets that are military robots that again would quite like some of this XD I've ended up making CWs specifically FOR their TCs ;A; and I'm an addict I put so much cash into TCs I need rehab or something.

The only reason my HAs have been branching out a bit recently is because I'm collecting the SubQ stuff and occasionally there is something there I want to play with, otherwise I hardly bother, I just recycle the same items over and over.

I'm in support of this idea like OMG yes. I like to have my HA be male/female equally, but it is often a real struggle to find enough usable male items that I usually just give up(I try to make all my outfits unique from the last, minus the items I always wear like ears and animal behinds). I have most of the military CWs posted in this thread on my wl, because they are amazingly detailed. I'm not asking this much of subeta it would take a long time to get that much detail, but having them be crisp and nice would be wonderful. I'm currently working to get that SAI job for my pet and love the idea of there being some sort of item shop for gadgets and stuff, the pet I'm trying to get in is a composite steam powered military robot rabbit/human. I'm sure he'd love these items for his TC or even just as inspiration for his design. Also I want a briefcase item I was able to find one for one of my outfits awhile ago so I had to use a coin purse. and (I don't think these really look like breifcases if you ask me they seem too small just looking at the size of the hand to the size of the case) compared to which is bigger than a briefcase but it seems more proportionate, but maybe I'm just crazy. These are the only briefcases that I know of on subeta there might be a CW one but I was hoping to just find one on site.

Yes, yes, a million times yes to everything that has been posted here. Hell I'd love to see more combat boots, Kevlar vests, more guns, more backgrounds, anything and everything. What about Jeeps and bomb deactivation tools, sandy terrains, jungles, submarines, tanks, helicopters, pretty much everything that is and were used in the military over the years? Vintage items are always nice too like more old-time fighter planes (though I guess we got enough of that during Masq but what the hell more is always welcomed)

I highly support special force items in general. It wasn't until after I created Legend that there's little to no Air Force related items I could add to her treasure chest.
