I got a nose piercing about 2 months ago and it was healing nicely until I took the ring out due to some swelling on a camping trip and then put it back in after trying to clean the wound. Now I have this crappy red bump on my nose that won't go away. :/ I will admit, I clean it twice a day, but I am NOT being faithful with hot compresses.
Anyone else have this issue and have it resolve without having to take the ring out or whatnot?

Does it hurts? Like is it a scar?
Sometimes healing piercings will get bumps like these. Try doing sea salt soaks to clean it, leaving your jewelry in. It is possible that the bump is from irritation from removing the jewelry and then putting it back in while it was healing. If you had the piercing done with a piercing gun, it could be a side effect of that as piercing guns really aren't reliable methods of piercing and tend to cause more damage than good.
The good news is that your nose will be fine. Healing piercings are finicky. Since you went camping, it's likely something caused a bit of irritation to cause swelling. Keep your jewelry in, clean the wound once or twice a day with a sea salt soak or just rinse it with clean water if you don't have any sea salt. Go to see a piercer if you can to get it checked out if you're really worried about it.
it does hurt a little still. I didn't do myself any favors last week when it snagged on my pillow case when I turned over, so that might have something to do with it.
I did a seasalt soak early this AM and the bump did seem to go down some, so I am going to be WAY more faithful doing that.
Thanks for the advice! I just haven't had anything pierced like this before, so I was stressing.
