Hey guys I dunno if you remember a while back but I wanted to get my lip done. Issue is: My work has now gone on a huge anti-piercing and had threatened to fire a girl for her clear stud.
I'd be willing to get the actual holes if it was for the fact of my job, and that a friend who took theirs out had them heal up within an hour.
So now I wanna know bout your opinions of fake piercings, do you think they're wrong or stupid? And if you do have some, what kind?
I don't see a problem with fake piercings. Their there for when you want to see if you like something or too scared to really get the piercing but want it. I don't see why people go against piercings. I mean, if their a little out there with the piercings(like twenty piercings on your face) yeah, I see a problem but not if you just have a few. A lip and nose piercing, gauges in your ears. Tattoo's are starting to get a little more accepted in work places, not sure why piercings can't be either. I really want to get the side of my nose pierced.
Personally I don't really see the point of fake piercings.. it just seems a bit pointless really. Either get the piercing or don't, idk. There are ways around wearing piercings at work, for example you could get the piercing when you had a couple of weeks off (not sure if that'd be possible for you tho) and then switch to a clear retainer whilst you're at work once the initial swelling/healing phase has passed.
edit lol just re-read the part where you said they noticed a girl's clear stud. To me that's just pathetic behaviour really, how noticeable can a clear stud be? She's clearly made the effort to follow the store policy whilst keeping her piercing which cost her money to get. Personally my manager/coworkers never noticed my clear retainer so maybe you just need to get the smallest size possible, make sure its a flat end instead of a ball, and maybe put a bit of makeup over it to blend it with your skin. Shouldn't be at all noticeable then really. Mine isn't.
I really don't either as it'd be the same as a necklace. The same goes for tattoos at my work you have to keep them covered up, along with bright or streaked hair colours. ><
She did it herself, and well it wasn't the best job. I asked a manager if I could even put a bandaid over that area to hide it. They said in the handbook we agreed not to do it. So we're outta luck. :c
do you have a recent copy of the handbook and can read the rules for this? at my work one manager tried to get everyone to wear their name tags on the left, but thing is it the handbook it says name tags just have to be clearly visible, free of stickers (other than like your years you've been there) and worn on either side. So when that manage tried to force people into that they were in the wrong on that. As for piercings/tats at my work? They allow em if you keep em small, clear for like a nose/lip thing or even bandaids/wraps are approved too and they do make exceptions for the healing time of a piercing because they as the workplace have no control over what you do in your time off only what you do at work, and far more places are understanding of the healing time for things and make exceptions as long as you have a note from the shop that did it when it happened and how long it may take for healing.
Now as to fake piercings? I agree with them to try out and see if it's a look you want to go for or not. Or for like say your 10 yo who wants to have their ears gauged but you may not allow them to do that til they are 18 or a bit older and more set in what they will like/enjoy for that. I only have my simple ear piercings that most girls get as a b-day gift from family, but if I were toying around with maybe a few more or a lip piercing I'd try out a fake one to see if I liked how it looks or feels, much better than spending money deciding you hate it, wait for it to heal enough to safely remove the earring/hoops and let the hole heal. So I'm for it for many reasons. Another also being for like costuming and holidays you like dressing up fun for and may only want your ears/face that full of earrings/hoops for that day.
FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
I do, and I'll probably flip through it. I'd be wearing them until the my week off for vacation (When my vacation comes I'm requesting three days off ahead of it.) and then I'd be getting my lip done if I can find a way around the rules.
Yeah do that for sure and then if they try to flip you shit for coming in with a clear stud or whatever to minimize/hide what they don't want customers to see just tell em to grab the handbook and go to page(s) x cuz if it's a thing done by corporate there's really not much they can do to change it other than go through ages of paperwork and meetings

I can't have any unnatural hair color at my work. I hate it cause I would love to go a little crazy one day and just dye my hair with some weird color. Lawl. I think the only jewelry we can wear is a wedding ring if your married and one pair of earrings.
I haven't gotten my ears pierced because I'm spineless. However, I really love magnetic earrings. Stick any amount you want of them up your ear, and just take them off when ever you don't want them. No holes, no cleaning, but you need to be careful about what magnets you get. Some of them can really ache after a while. I'm trying to locate some tiny magnets these days to fashion my own out of regular earrings. I'm also hoping to buy this,
Magnetic nose ring. xD I think that would be pretty easy for me to maintain.
I feel like fake piercing have really progressed. About 5 years ago when I was in high school, one girl had a fake lip ring, and it fooled me for weeks. It stayed in as if it were the real deal and everything.
In general, I'm fine with fake ones. I definitely view them differently then real ones commitment wise, but if no one told me, I wouldn't be the wiser.
don't have a problem with them at all and actually, a fake piercing might be what i'm looking for because i asked my mum if i was allowed to get a 3rd lobe piercing and she said no... apparently i'm only allowed each ear lobe pierced once but i already have that eurgh :C
i'm tempted to go out and buy myself a few magnetic ear studs and fake gauges but i'd wear them more subtley and hope no one notices because i'd be quite embarrased if someone asked me and i was like 'oh, it's fake'.
