It blocks tons of damage! still, it breaks easily(can only be used a limited # of times per battle) so i suggest using more than one of the items, the cheapest way to get the items is to make them in the genetec lab link for(i think all) the genetec recipes http://www.subetahq.com/gentech.php the pauldrons and shield helped me beat the lizard minion and the muffin man>w<(and the fact that i've been training dragonessa)

I have never observed the Forj armor breaking, . I have been in some long 30 turn battles with Pylot Attacks! and the Forj Tempered Hauberk stayed together the entire time.

The Forj Tempered weapons are (alas) semi-breakable, but the armor does not break.

I don't know what you are asking me, . What weapons you choose are dependent on how strong your pet is and who you are fighting.

The shield is semi breakable. The hauberk is not. I dont think the Kusarigama (one of the weapons) is. I used to use it all the time and it never broke.

No I believe only the Shield breaks. And that is because it blocks so much ice....a permanent ice blocker would be too powerful for its cost of making.
