After a year of being unemployed and filling out literally hundreds of job applications, I FINALLY have a job! I am now a temporary cashier at Wal*Mart. I know it's not much, but it is a start, and if I do well, they'll hire me on permanently. I am so excited!

Also, when is your first day?
I have to go back tomorrow for my drug test and background check, and once the results come back, I'll have my orientation and go from there.
Congrats! As somebody who is dying to start working once I get home...just having SOMETHING to pay the bills and take up your time is a great thing :)

I'd be careful about it all the same and do your best even when you feel your worst. Wal*Mart has a reputation for laying off temps for no adequately good reason

& Thank you! Unfortunately I am all too aware of this fact as several of my friends have been hired and fired by Wal*Mart in a short timespan. I'm pretty much of the mindset that if I'm not dead (and buried. Seriously.) then I will be at my store busting my hump even on my days off. Add in the fact that the manager is a real live criminal and yeah... fun times for Simone.
