Yes, you can give wreathed items to the Red Rreign. He will try to attack you if you do so by either knocking your pets down to 0 HP, destroying one random non-locked item in your inventory, or making your HA look burned. Just make sure that when you do this, none of your pets are in a battle and that you either lock anything valuable in your inventory or take it out of your inventory altogether.
