The title says it all.
I was stationed in California for the next six years of my life, my husband is moving out here with our ball of joy a male two year chiweenie named Spike.
Spike is a love able, dopey, food loving guy. He's also a bit of a bully playing a little rough when he gets excited but he loves other dogs and is use to living with cats and cats of all ages and sizes. He's used to always having another anima with him, and since he'd be leaving my families other pets we both agreed to get another cat or dog.
I've looked online and have fallen in love with so many pups but I've been thinking maybe we should let my Spike decide?
Would a shelter mind if I brought him along to meet whoever his new sibling would be?
Anything I should be worried about with a new home?
And I've never had issues with any of our dogs when being introduced, so I was wondering how to go about this? Spike loves puppies, and I'm more worried about the dog or kit we would get.
Also should I try getting a younger cat or dog for him?
And before anyone says anything, we have planned to adopt another pet for some time. The fact that it would make Spike feel at ease is just a great bonus!
I would wait until spike gets there, and give him some time to adjust before getting a dog, because incase he has issues and then top it all off with a new dog might be overload for him
but i wouldnt see why they wouldnt let you bring your dog, maybe not inside, but bring the new dog to a neutral place, a parking lot or something like that
