it's my personal experience that multiple 8-15 point scrolls do better than the 20-point tome scrolls. I'd get Deluge only if you have an opponent in mind that it would be good for with it's spare icons .

I don't think that Carrion Lord blocks much magma fire, so 3x Inferno Scroll would take only 18 AP and hit him pretty hard.

Salvonic Pylonic is also mostly magma and fire, if you can afford to use it it's a nice extra once time punch.

Is it usually cheaper to make scrolls at the shrine than to buy them? (I would assume it would be)

no way to tell. There was a scavenger hunt recently that massively inflated reagents. While there normally would have been time for them to devalue, this current tranche of challengers probably has people making up scrolls. Some already existing scrolls on-market might be cheaper.

If price is an issue, Singed Stuffing does magma fire dark and a little healing for 7 AP
