I made this wig as a commission and it keeps getting denied -- can anyone help me with it? I do a lot of wigs but this one is kinda weirdly shaped and I can't seem to get it right.
OLDEST -------- NEWEST

OLDEST -------- NEWEST

DENIAL 1 • ITEM: Thick or heavy lineart • OVERLAY: Gradient or soft shaded instead of cel-shaded • ITEM: Blurry artwork • NOTE: We are unsure if the shading on the overlay is actually soft/gradient, but there is something about the shading that is making portions of the hairstyle look like a shiny, puffy sticker that you may want to address.
DENIAL 2 ITEM: Colored lineart and/or lineart so thin it appears colored • OVERLAY: Ambiguous shading/light source unclear • NOTE: The shading style on the overlay is making the hair look puffy rather than giving it the texture of hair.
DENIAL 3 • ITEM: Thick or heavy lineart • OVERLAY: Dodge/burn look or too much contrast in shading • OVERLAY: Over-sharpened artwork • ITEM: Blurry artwork • NOTE: The overlay is overly contrasted and very sharpened, but the item is very thick and blurry looking. Both of these issues will need to be addressed.
Also why the hell can't they make up their minds on the lineart seriously. It's too thick! Here I'll lighten it! Now it's too thin! Ok I'll thicken it up! Now it's too thick again! WHAT I'M HARDLY CHANGING IT.
Oh dear, please don't freak out! xD
Ok, so, for starter, I think the're looking at the lineart too tick because there is A LOT of lineart, or at least it feels like there's a lot of it. Try making the within lines lighter than the outline, and see if this works. I used that technique over my hair, . Cathii also had her wig approved, and it's probably more your style: Black lineart isolates the colors, and make things heavier. Probably is that thing they're are trying to point to you but don't know how to do it. The contrast between your shadow/highlight is too strong on the top of the bangs, which makes this even more perceptive. Honestly, I think if you just make the within lines clear in both item and overlay you'll save up a lot of work and probably won't have to deal with your shading much. About the sharpened look, it's probably because you made the original item line thicken than the original hair line, and when you resized it, the sharpen effect happened (and comparing one to each other, the item line ended up blurry). In order to fix, you probably only have re-draw the outline, for both images, with the same brush size :/
