Born to Die came out today! I've been listening to it for awhile and I really love it. It's like a really classy hip hop soundtrack for an old movie, basically.

My favorite songs are Off to the Races, Dark Paradise, Blue Jeans, Million Dollar Man, Radio, and I really like National Anthem but I hate the version they put on the album :( The only songs I don't like at all are 'You Can Be the Boss' and 'Trash'(perfectly named...).

Has anyone else listened to the tracks yet? Have a favorite?

also really my only complaint is that literally every song is about love... I mean lyrically pretty much every song is outstanding but it's all love. There's not much variety when it comes to lyrics.

omg. i love trash and you can be the boss. they remind me of high school when i'd blast lily allen and my dad would call it circus music.

but i'm sort of meh about her. most of her songs i cannot stand her voice, super deep manly voices aren't my thing i guess? idk.

lol really? I think Trash is just so boring and annoying :( I don't really like the high squeaky voice she does, which she does in that ENTIRE song and you can be the boss is just generally not that great to me. I don't really like her deep voice transition to higher voice thing she does all that well, either. It's not very subtle at all and it can be kind of off putting but I try to look past it most of the time... like Born to Die and Video Games especially.

ugh she did that throughout her snl performance.. i think that's why it was so bad. it was like SUPER DEEP... OH HELLO IT'S HIGH NOW /random change again and again

Yeah I do not like her performances AT ALL. She loses so much personality and vocal ability when she sings her stuff live. I just don't ever watch stuff she does live and continue the illusion that irl she is Jessica Rabbit.

I downloaded the album a few days ago but I've only had the chance to listen to a few songs (some of those on repeat lol). I love, love, love Dark Paradise and Born to Die. I think Blue Jeans is growing on me too.

I first heard of her on a Bremen Vier radio station on my phone... and fell in freaking hot hot total homo love w/ her voice thank you "Video Games". What an absolutely gorgeous song. I'll probably get the album at some oint, I do like "Blue Jeans" as well, haven't heard any others yet.

Honestly, before listening to her, I really thought I'd hate her. I'd just gotten so sick of these pop stars who everyone freaks out over, and all sound the exact same.

Holy smokes, was I wrong. I absolutely love her music. Fell in love at the first song. ;u;

I absolutley adore Lana Del Rey, my favourite tracks are Off To The Races, National Anthem, Summertime Sadness & Raise Me Up, which isn't on the album, but I downloaded it. Raise Me Up is actually probably my favourite song of hers, no idea why she didn't put it on the album.

Yeah, she has a lot of great old songs like "Oh Say Can You See" and "Pawnshop Blues" that didn't make the album but I can see why. They're more indie-sounding than the melodramatic orchestra she mostly has on her album :P

But apparently she's releasing an album this summer with her unreleased stuff so those songs will be on there probably!

I'm on the fence with Lana. All her songs are either love/hate, no in between. That said, my favorites are Off to the Races (I listened to only this for like two days straight once, haha), Without You (not sure if this is on Born to Die) and Carmen. I also love Dark Paradise, Radio, Diet Mtn Dew and Lolita. I don't care for any of the others.

I don't really like Lana. Only that she's absolutely gorgeous. But I've been addicted to "Born To Die" for weeks [literally listened to it three days straight, all day]; it is a beautiful song. My only other favourite song is "National Anthem". I do like "Off To The Races". My least favourite song would be "Summer Sadness", because it's just too slow for me.

Yeah, even though I like pretty much the entire album I feel the same way about her :P It's pretty much love/hate with her I think because all her songs are very sappy melodramatic love songs which a lot of people are either annoyed by or love.

Well, I loved Video Games and I liked Born to Die (the song) but I have to admit I was really disappointed with the album... Was expecting better!... I like Diet Mtn Dew though!

I've only listened to Video Games, because it's been on the radio. I like the melody, but the lyrics are kinda meh. I was expecting better lyrics to such a melody. |D
