I just got my first tome ever on my second mage quest. =D
I looked it up on Subeta HQ (I totally didn't know what it was, haha.) and was wondering if it's something I should use now, or wait later and use?
Is there a cap on how far you can train at the training center?
(edited for spelling failure. xD)
It's recommended you wait until the training time is substantially higher than yours would be right now. You still have a fairly short wait time per stat, and the cost per stat of a tome isn't justified. I would probably sell it, or keep it for a much later date.
And to answer your second question, there is no limit.
I don't think there's a cap anymore, but later it takes a LOT of sP and time. If you want to use it, it' up to you. Personally, I'd hoard it until later or sell it, but using the boost always feels good too.

I'd hold off until your pet has stats past 250 or so.
Yes the higher the level of your pet the longer the waiting period.
250? I'd wait to use a tome till your pet's stats where over 600 or so, each. 1-2 hours isn't bad for training time but 3+ tends to really take a while.
It also takes about 12-15k per point @ 3hours time as well so it accumulates fast.
i still can't bring myself to use my tomes at 5.5 hours training =P (but i will soon)
& congrats on the tome. i stopped turning in mage amulets for now after not getting any tomes for like 10+.
Wow, people complaining about 3 hour+ course? xD On neopets I was doing 24 hour courses.... 3 hours is still pretty nice if you ask me.
Yes but on neo, I put the same amount of time and effort into my battle pet then as I do here and for some reason, Subeta just grew stronger and faster in the same amount of time. More so, unless you started battling when the site opened on neo, you can forget about ever having any chance at the coughgoodcough weapons when compared to icons/damage done here. To many people cheat on neo for my taste and the freedom of expression is near null.
my training time is 330 mins and I STILL can't bring myself to use my stat increasers !

The point was not to say of how their battling system compares to this one. It is to say that 3 hours is really not that much time when it comes to training, especially since it is quite common to get 2 stats per training.
It really depends on your own patience. I personally log in maybe every few hours for a few minutes to check. But if you're on subeta 24/7... the wait can seem REALLY long. I started using stat boosters at around 800 stats, but only ones I get for free :P
I don't think I could bear having my pet grow only 1-3 stats in 24 hours >_>
right now i'm trying to get the 500 achievement on my pet.. have all but defense which is 3 more points... if i get the mages and they turn into tomes then i use it if i already have it in hoard.. i figure it was cheap to get it so no harm to me... once i get the 500 defense i'll wait on them since i have a long way to go to get all the stats to 600..
but at least there, when you're doing 24-hour courses, you know the 4-hour ones aren't very far away. here the times just keep getting longer and longer.
but, i agree somewhat - i think about training there whenever i start to get grumpy about the times here. training is much better here, but the boosts are further apart at higher levels, so it still feels like it takes a really long time between boosts.
The wait doesn't bother me. I always forget to train my pet anyway. I really need to try harder. I have some nice weapons. Now I just need the stats to go with them.
Serious Telenine Collector at work!
Yeah, the boosts are farther apart. And that is what probably makes it feel so long. But they are well worth it and do come somewhat fast.
True, on there you know that the 4-hour courses are close at hand, but 50 levels at 24 hour courses... I wanted to rip my hair out x.x
It just stinks that Speed was added, now another 100 points to train when going from 400 to 500...etc in stats XD
I don't mind the 5+ hours to train, but the speed had slowed me down !
I sure hope the speed thing will be worth it eventually :)
