Hello :3 I'm into the horror/fantasy genre, and I was hoping that someone could recommend a novel for me to try reading.

The last fantasy story that I read was called "Wings" by Aprilynne Pike.

I have yet to find a good horror series/novel to begin reading, other than the older fear street series.

Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist It's certainly not your typical vampire novel.

The original Dracula by Bram Stoker might be a good place to start. I haven't personally read the novel, but it's a classic.

There's always Stephen King. A lot of his books walk the line between horror and fantasy, so that might be something like what you're looking for.

Of course, if you're already familiar with King, try out Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill.

Pretty much anything by Holly Black is good if you're into a more modern twist on fantasy; since you seem to like fae lit I particularly recommend her "Modern Faerie Tales" series, which are urban romance/adventure stories. Laini Taylor's "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" and the sequel "Days of Blood and Starlight" are also really neat fantasy romance books. They're very dark, however.

For horror, I really recommend Tom Piccirilli's "Pentacle: A Self Collection" and "A Lower Deep". The first is a collection of short stories and the second is a full length novel, both following a witch referred to generally as 'the necromancer' and his familiar, a depraved demon referred to as his 'second Self'. They combine Eldrichtian horror elements with a lot of mythological knowledge.

I second anything from Holly Black. Other great fantasy authors are Julie Kagawa (Iron Fey series), Melissa Mar (Wicked Lovely series), Cassandra Clare (Mortal Instruments series) and Richelle Mead (Vampire Academy).

I love the nightrunner series... they are great fantasy books about intrique, spies and live at court and magic! then the black juwels - demons, rebellion, slavery, magic then Kushiel - couldn't explain, you MUST read!

Everybody is dreaming.... and so am I.... Forever looking for (sell me!) [Item=Once In A New Moon Mark] and [Item=Limited Edition Celestial Monarch Figurine] and [Item=White Fluffy Head Sprouts] and [Item=Notice Me Senpai Flush]

If you want a book that's really off the wall but still quite good, I would recommend "The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of The Apocalypse" by Robert Rankin. It's a fantasy/horror set in a dystopian Toyland, a very funny - and very dark - read.

I don't usually read horror books but I liked the Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy. Actually I didn't even know it was classified as horror until I was looking it up online and I had already got hooked on the books.

Not sure how much it falls under the fantasy category, but House of Leaves is definitely a horror novel worth reading. I can guarantee that it's like nothing you've ever read before and that the literal book itself is something of a monster in its own right.
