mild gore i'd really like to clean up this sketch without redrawing it completely if anyone can help me i use gimp (i cant pay for drawing programs)

i usually use picmonkey to adjust it-make it more pronounced but it just makes it worse and no matter how i scan it i still get pencil glare?? any scanning/adjusting tips would be so sweet of you ;-;

i'm not sure if there's a better way, but what i do to clean my pencil drawings is adding more contrast to the image, and then go to filters > artistic > cartoon (or something similar, since i don't have my gimp in english) and play around with the setting until i get something good looking. if there are still some large stains of pencil, i just erase them with the rubber. then if you want to make the background transparent, you can go to colors > color to alpha and set it to white.
