They say dreams are the windows of the soul--take a peek and you can see the inner workings, the nuts and bolts. - Henry Bromel

Dreams. They are multi-faceted events that take place in every one's slumber time. I'm not referring to daydreaming, but of those we experience at night, wherever we sleep, however we sleep. I'm not gonna go all waxing philosophical on all of you. The purpose of this post is to discuss our dreams, whether they are bad or good or weird or sad... whatever. It is also said that we use about 10% of our mind, but no one knows how much more of our mind we use when we dream.

I'd love to hear your dreams. If you are bothered by a dream, perhaps some here may be able to help you figure things out, give advice if you are willing to accept it, debate ideas and ideals. Debate different interpretations. If you have psychic abilities, perhaps you can provide direct interpretations of someone's dreams that post here... and how they relate to their waking life, and predictions as well. NO PHONIES K? CUZ I CAN TELL!! well, not really, it's solely based upon your conscience and scruples.

Be honest here, no exaggerations, no faking or behaving Munchhausen-like either. Just share what you dreamed last night, or if you are experiencing repetitive dreams, or if one particular dream haunts you in your waking life. Are you able to control your dreams? Can you make reasonable decisions in your dreams? Or are you completely disabled and left in the hands of the sandman.

Tell us.....

I can't think of any dreams I've had recently but I remember I had a dream when I was little where a bright green snake was chasing me around my kitchen. I don't know why I was terrified, since I usually love snakes. I guess it was because it was chasing me. My brother and mother were completely oblivious even though they were right there. I tried to scream and get their attention, but no sound came out. It's pretty amusing now that I think about it.

Half the time it's like I'm watching myself when I'm dreaming and the other half of the time I can somewhat control my own body.

I constantly dream about sharks and often the sharks do not fit at all into the scenario of the dream.

My mom always told me that sometimes a snake is just a snake (in your dreams), but then there's the Freudian interpretation of snakes in your dreams... Do you have an enemy that's trying to hurt you in some way? Are you constantly fighting with your mom or dad or both? Or were you not being heard? Being chased around in the kitchen makes me think this:

  1. Kitchen - home. Or perhaps food, maybe a struggle with food (gaining weight or no appetite). It could also mean that the contention is within the family, because the kitchen usually represents a comfortable place, a gathering place, a bonding place in the house.

  2. Snake: Whatever or whomever you are fighting against. And you are feeling like it's wearing you down from all the running away from it, or it trying to consume you.

I say your dream interpreted that you struggled a lot as a child trying to get your parents to hear you, listen to you, and try to understand you. The snake represents the struggle itself. Why a snake? I dunno. Did you like them when you were a child? And I'm also talking about tweenies too... given I don't know how old you are, but we won't go there. :) So hopefully you don't have these dreams anymore!!!

Can you describe one dream in particular that involved a shark?

Lately I'm in a phase where I don't remember my dreams in the morning however there are certain places that I dream of like regularly but I don't know them from real life - it's like an own world I visit in my dreams.

Oh, and I often dream of carousels / funfairs. X'D

Sometimes I can influence my dreams, but in most cases not. I also often switch perspective while dreaming, from being the actor to being a watcher...and it's rare that I'm "myself", much more often I'm a completely different person, sometimes female but males are far more often my "dream selves".

I do that too.... damn I had a killer dream and then when I wake up, BAM it's gone. MEOW!

But when I remember... they are very vivid and very lifelike dreams.

One particular dream I had was the other night ... I was a younger age, maybe in my 20's, and I had a little sister, probably a tweenie. LOL that's my word of the day today! anyway, we both go outside the house and there's stairs leading down to the sidewalk. We saw this guy sitting on the steps of the next door neighbor's house. We chatted a bit and he said "there's a party going on right now in the house behind me, wanna come? Both of you is fine," So, my sister egging me to go, pulling on my shirt. So with my own reluctance, mainly for her, we went to the party. We were having a good time, except when the drugs were passed around, along with a variety of bottles with booze in them. Then we stood up and said we have to go now, but the guys grabbed us both and we were raped, sodomized and had the shit beaten out of us. I escaped because they were ALL taking their turns, and I left my sister behind. I woke up crying, seriously.

So uh, yah. My dreams are VERY vivid...

But yours, carousels - are you enjoying them or do they frighten you? Do you have a sense of fear because it's a carnival ride? Is it frustrating to you because all it does is go round and around and around... Funfairs - those usually are fun. uuh o________o christa you're such a nerd. But anyway, the feeling of owning the little worlds you visit in your dreams may represent a sense of control or dominance. Over yourself, your loved ones, your life.... Perhaps you are TRYING to gain a sense of control since the worlds you visit are unknown to you in the beginning.

Controlling your dream or parts of your dream or yourself during REM sleep is an amazing thing. Since this doesn't require much interpretation, it basically means you have the ability to keep self control or control of your environment in your dreams.

But being a different person in your dream could mean you're struggling with your own identity in life, or finding a place to fit in - in your waking life. Something is making you curious, and therefore you become "someone else" to watch this curiosity unfold.

PEOPLE... These are just my opinions and not actual psychic or dead on interpretations. I just go off what I know and feel.

that's ok. I'm sure this thread will be open for a while, if you remember a dream, even if it's in bits and pieces, perhaps I can help you figure it out

Whoah, very bad dream I would have cried, too I guess or at least my day would have been ruined. =o

My worst dreams are the realistic ones, too. I mean I also dreamt of typical horror-stuff stuff like zombies in the past but that never got me as much as my realistic nightmares. Lucky for me that nightmares are VERY rare for me.

Thank you for your interpretation on my dreams, very interesting to read another opionion. c:

As for the carousels and funfairs, I love and enjoy them in my dreams just as much as in real life, sometimes they even serve as a shelter I flee to from places I don't feel comfortable.

yer welcome! ;D

Ok so the carousels and funfairs act as a type of shelter from some form of harm. Then my interpretation is this...

you're running away from something in life and you're trying to seek shelter from the storm. You dream of places of contentment for yourself and you happen to pick carousels and funfairs. I see deeper interpretations with the carousels and funfairs, but I don't wanna dive in that end of the pool. But if you can find someone who can do interpretations better than I ever could, ask them about the carousels and funfairs, what is it about them exactly that represent a form of shelter and a hiding place for you....

They sometimes are like a shelter but most of the time they are just there without a visible reason and I'm like "Carousels? Wow, awesome I love watching carousels." what is exactly how I feel about them in real life, too I could watch a cool or pretty carousel (or more precisely it's technical stuff) for hours if you'd let me. :'3

For the interpretations, I don't know anyone who does it and so far I haven't done much personal research about it either. Basically the only thing I ever did was writing down some of my really hilarious dreams (e.g. riding up a flood dam on a fuzzy pink sweater coughs) but not to interpret them but because I can now read their plots again and laugh about my crazy brain. 8'D

Yah, I have those too. Just bizarre funny dreams that don't really mean anything. It's just your mind dreaming of odd and completely meaningless things and places. More like to entertain your brain when you are awake. And one has to be careful when trying to interpret anothers dreams because it can be wrongly interpreted and the dreamer may act upon the advice from the dream and be completely wrong and at a loss, for anything, thanks to the interpreter. So in this case, take what I say lightly, for someone else may have a different interpretation than mine.

definitely! Conversations with substance are more of an education than just rambling off words.

It is indeed nekkid. With the wardrobe screwy uppy deal, I have to go to the regular wardrobe to remove items and then go to the beta site and edit my wardrobe there. There is no option to "remove all", you have to click on each item to remove it. LAME! But the broken hair salon is what's really pissing me off cuz I want to use my 'daydream' hair style!!!
