I'm working on my very first CW submission and have some questions... and I know I'll have lots more! If this isn't the right forum for this thread, please let me know.

First, is there any way to access previous rejected submissions? I've made one attempt at this submission, and it was rejected (and rightfully so) for several issues with the art. I'm working on redrawing it, but I'd like to access the reasons for rejection so that I don't make the same mistakes. I deleted them from my events, so are they gone now? I also know we get 10 tries at an item before it's permanently rejected, so I wasn't sure if we just started over on the form for our second try, or if there was some way to indicate that it was a revision of a previously submitted rejection.

Finally, I'm unclear on how slots work. The first time I submitted, I paid the 5000 CSC myself and didn't know what the slots meant. (My CSC was returned, of course, but I, uh... have spent most of it since then ^X^; ) But do I try to get people to back me by giving them slots? If so, do they pay me the CSC and I pay Subeta, or do they pay Subeta directly for their slot? I'm afraid no one will want to back me because I've never done a CW before.

I'm sorry for the long post and the noob questions -X-;

Hey! I'm going to be (somewhat) short, so feel free to keep asking more questions c: (No worries about noob questions at all!)

  1. Sorry, no :c Once you delete the reasons, they're gone from your account; however, you may still open a ticket and ask staff to paste it to you again! The records remain tied to your account on their end, it should be easy enough for them to do so c: (but, if it happens again, I do recommend saving the notes on a text file, before you delete the event! just to save you the hassle of a ticket)

  2. You don't need to paste everything again into your form, but you can! Since the records are kept on your account, you don't need to mention it's the second submission c: It is nice, however, to use the form text area to talk to staff - you can tell them everything you did to address the fixes they required and it'll make their judging a bit easier ^_^

  3. You can open a shop (a temporary shop, if you prefer) and ping some custom wearable groups to see if anyone is interested in a slot for your item c: People take slots for ideas they like, not just artists they know! Slots are assigned on the system, so you'll be placing their names and the amount they should pay in the appropriate fields and they will pay Subeta directly via this automated system c: (technically, you could collect their csc and pay yourself, but this is a bit unsafe as sometimes things go wrong... try to use the system whenever you can!)

Thank you SO much! showers you with balloons You answered all my questions perfectly :) I'll open the ticket to get my reasons back, but I'll save them from now on! I'll also take your advice on the form and using the automatic system. (SO much easier than I thought it was!)

Haha, thanks xD You're welcome!

Great ^_^ After you upload the files, the system shows you only one username (yours) with a 5000 csc payment assigned by default, but you may fill up that column with up to 10 usernames and assign each of them a price to pay (these still should add up to 5000 or more at the end, though) c: Once everyone pays their slot, the item goes to staff's queue within the hour and in case of denial everyone gets their csc back normally!

Thanks for explaining everything ^X^

Now I was wondering if anyone could take a look at my WIP and offer suggestions on how to make it better. My item is going to be a balloon companion (a tribute to Drifblim from Pokemon). I did some line art last night: http://loftyballoon.deviantart.com/art/Wyndyss-Poof-Lines-Critique-Wanted-471972278 (offsite link to my dA)

I'm not sure what "untapered lineart" means. How can I fix that?

And also, can I get some advice on making the feather look better? I looked at several feather items and wearables, and they seemed simpler than what I was trying to do. Should I make the feather not so curly? I think the top part looks okay, but I don't like the tip -X- I'm not totally happy with the hair either.

Thank you for any advice ^X^

No problem c:

Ahn... yeah, you don't really want art advice from me, haha ^_^; I'm more like... the annoying sidekick to my friends who do art xD

I'm going to spoiler this bit but click it anyway xD

I did take a look at your previous and current versions, and the one thing I could say is that staff tends to be picky sometimes when it comes to lineart thickness. The outer line should (normally) be black and of the same thickness throughout the piece, so I think that maybe they were just trying to tell you your line weight needed some adjustments! In some points, it seemed to get much thinner than the rest x:

(this is going to seem really nitpicky but I screenied a small area of your working size just to illustrate what I mean ^_^; )

See? I know feathers are fluffy and all, but it probably just means you needed to watch out for line weight and keep it roughly the same c: Like

But your new, redone version looks a lot better! c:

Anyway, as I said, while I'm happy to try being a second pair of eyes, I barely know what I'm talking about, so I can't be of much help ;n;

What I can do is point you to this topic***, on the second post you can find a small list of artists who have always been happy to offer some critique and generally help others get their items approved c: I don't know how much time they've got recently and all that (I think hasn't had any time, I haven't seen her around...), but I can vouch they wouldn't throw you off a cliff for asking xD Try commenting one of them!

***I am actually asking staff if that thread can still be posted on, because it hasn't had any posts in forever... until they answer me, I guess it's safer to just leave it there n_n

Actually that line art info really helped! I did use a thinner line for that fluffy part, good eye :D I'll check over the new line art and be sure I'm not too thin anywhere.

And thanks for the info on the other topic, and for asking if the thread is necro'd or not. I bookmarked it in any case, so even if it's too old to post in, I can read some of the critiques and see if they apply to my Poof. Thanks for everything!

Aw -hugs- it's fine! I wish I could be more helpful, heh ^_^;

I had to open a ticket for another reason (I got an achievement item twice and idk if it was meant to be this way) so I figured I could ask that as well... -waiting for ticket to be assigned- I'll post here when it does c:

That's a great idea XD I kept stalking that topic 5evr because it was always so interesting to read the critiques, even if I have about zero artistic skills n_n!

[edit] They said it's a no, it could still be considered necroing :c /sob
