I am suddenly seeing tons of orange highlighted words all over the website; in item names, messages from other people, in the sidebar, and even on top of words that you have to click for Subeta links but instead it opens the ads. What the hell? I am a paying Gold account holder and don't think I should be seeing such bullshit. For Subeta to even force these types of ads onto non-paying members is downright lame.

Today is my birthday, is my birthday status causing these to show up and normally I wouldn't see them?

Sounds like you have some kind of adware on your computer. I'd recommend doing some scanning and such to see if you can get rid of them. It's not something on 'Beta's end I don't think.

That's actually not a Subeta thing, it's probably malware.

That's really weird, but staff has pointed out in the past that this kind of thing isn't on Subeta's end so :x

That's weird... I would still try doing scans for maleware/adware and viruses if I were you. Better safe than sorry.

Same thing happened to me. It was definitely Mal-ware picked up from a "upgrade" download..., not Subeta related.

I went out to dinner and came back to this. I have no idea how I could have got malware. I will have to check though.

Hey, I had this problem too. It was definitely malware. I had my bf remove the unwanted programs.

I didn't actually download anything but our theory was that since we disabled Chrome from self-updating, it was prone to new malware/spam and whatnot.

Remove any programs you don't recognize and then run your anti-malware program again. If your Chrome isn't up to date yet, do it.
