Yes, there's a thread about this in chit-chat but I thought it'd be beneficial to make it here, too.

This is MY wish for the Wishing Shrub - I wish that there could be a cap as to the sP limit wished for for each item. Someway, somehow there must be programming of some sort that can tell how much something's worth in player shops and accept or deny items based on that. I think a fair cap would be, say, 5 mill. Anything else is rejected. All this stuff that people are wishing for - Legendaries, CSC cards, expensive collection items, items that aren't for sale, etc, etc, is just greed. These are players granting player wishes. This isn't a wishing well where the site grants your wish. Unless you're incredibly lucky to be graced by some philanthropist willing to bestow an Ether on you, it's nothing but greed that this bush has turned into. No one can grant wishes because the wishes are astronomical in price. No one can ask for anything reasonable because they have to grant a wish first before they can. It goes back to the first point - no one can grant wishes because the the wishes are astronomical in price...the vicious (or should I say malicious?) cycle continues.

I also think it'd be nice if staff cleared the bush and a hold put on it until something was put in place where there was a cap placed on what to wish for...either that or have a list of common things to choose from and you can wish for items from a list that staff creates. However, the latter seems rather un-fun.

Something needs to be done and fast. It's creating a whole lot of very unhappy players. It's sad for me to say that I foresaw this happening once the bush came out. I just knew it was going to be filled with ungrantable wishes, that it was going to get filled up with greed.

I think an even better solution for this would be to make two bushes, one for the things above lets say 5 mil, one for the things below 5 mil, to get acces to either you need to grant a wish of someone on the specific bushes you want acces to.. I think that would be fair (and maybe to just be annoying to the people currently being extremely greedy that you can only be in one out of two bushes and you will only be removed from one bush after your wish has not been granted for lets say... 2 days!)

I want to put limits on it - but I just don&;t really know where the line is. Lots of wishes are being fulfilled, mostly because so many people are sitting and waiting for that one "reasonably" priced item to pop up - they get chosen really quickly.

We&;re going to continue making changes to it as the festival progresses, we want to make it a good experience!

while I don't agree the 5 mill is a good limit, I am in total agreement that a lot of those wishes there are just out of pure greed. nnMaybe there could be rules where you simply can't wish for csc or items that don't exist in shops (though I'm not sure how they would do that). Luckily I haven't had to spend anything to grant wishes yet because they've all been items I don't really use. It's hard to find items under 5 mil on the list. Staff should really clear out the ridiculously high amounts of csc and gold account wishes.nnI'm glad that staff is working on the changes though.

Geez we don't need to punish people asking for unreasonable wishes, we just need a way for them to be cleared more effectively if they aren't granted. Super harsh man XD

Someone else has this idea. Thank you! An sP liminit would be a nice idea. Even it was at 10 mill, it'd still be better than what it's at now. Same with the CSC. Put a limit on that. People are asking for 5000 CSC gift cards. That's $50, folks. That's expensive.

Well, I disagree on some things. First, there will always be greedy people (let them dream, who cares?). I don't think CSC cards should go beyond 500 csc. I don't think legendaries should be able to go there either (but it's only my opinion).

But items not in the shop? No. What if I have an item and even if it's not in shop, I am still willing to give it away?

It really is completely unreasonable. Why would I be willing to spend 45 million sP on an item for a person I don't know when I'm not even willing to spend that on myself? And yes, there are items being wished for that are that much. I should be able to put in the amount I want to spend and then perhaps be shown something from one person's wishlist that I could buy for them. That's how this should work.

There should not be a limit. Now there is an achievement so people are now persuaded to make more reasonable wishes. Some people are getting some of the more expensive ones granted and usually that is just by chance. I gave away an item worth 65 mill just because I had 2 of them in my vault from years ago. And also if you have a few hundred million sp in your vault it is not that big of a deal to spend 20-40 mill on an item.

Limits or not, I just wish there were some people that would make reasonable wishes out of the mercy of their hearts for people like me. I really want to grant someone's wish, but I can never seem to find a single one in my price range. I'm willing to spend about 1-2 mil per wish. Most of my sP is in my shop which I have to keep in there to get my achievement, and I don't have much in my vault (the wardrobe achievements are making me go nearly broke). Please people please!! The problem here is that we all have different standards of what's reasonable. Its not even a matter of what you can afford, as far as I'm concerned. It's about what you think as an acceptable amount to ask a stranger to shell out. I'd rather that none of the wished for items were worth more than 2 million, but others are clearly happy to pay a lot, lot more. Despite current efforts (allowing wishes to be withdrawn, achievements for having your wishes granted), the shrub is still clogged with very expensive items most users clearly aren't happy paying for. As annoying as it is, imposing a price limit is a bit draconian.

I actually don't think there should be a limit - I'm not quite sure how that would even work, especially with the massive inflation going on. But I think that wishes need to auto-cancel after 2-4 hours or so.

Is it Greed? Or Hope.

These are wishes. I honestly don't see an issue with wishing for expensive stuff. Its just less likely it'll get picked.

I think makes a great point, that is getting overlooked.

As ridiculous as the wishes can be, that's what they are- wishes. Who are you to tell someone they shouldnt be able to wish for sonething because you don't personally agree or think is too expensive.

I wonder if the people who are making these 5k csc cards, legendaries, etc are getting free passes or something, cause I can't imagine filling a 10 mill eequest just to ask for a 100 mill item. Likewise, if I paid 10 mill to grant a wish, I am not likely going to ask for something worth 500k.

The wishing tree is a testament to man's arrogance. Requesting items you are unable to obtain for yourself is playing God. PLAYING! GOD! I cannot make wishes because everyone is greedy and malicious but me. Human nature is vile. This is why we have wars.

my only wish is for everyone else to feel the real unhappiness I feel deep in my heart because I am not getting the virtual items in a virtual pet game that I want

end the wishing tree or I will end my life because I cannot stomach this gruesome spectacle any longer

I think it'd be really complex to sort by price (if they sort by average price, it could give lots of non-real infos). Otherwise, it'd be totally possible to sort by rarity (like, only 1-99 ratity items or 1-101)... They already excluded 200r items, and I think that - even with a lot of extremelly expensive/unbuyable items - the shrub is nice the way it is... I mean: they already made an achiev to be granted 5 wishes. If the wishes aren't more reasonable, it's totally fault of the users that don't change their minds.

I just flat out disagree with this widespread assumption that every person who asks for an item above YOUR personal standard of 'reasonable' MUST be motivated by greed.

"The Wishing Shrub is a place where you can ask for your deepest desires."

I've said it before, I'll say it again. If you ask people in real life what their deepest desire is, they probably won't consider their answer in terms of what A. Another might find reasonably priced. They will ask for their deepest desire. Unless they genuinely reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want that box of cheerios, it's going to be a biggy. That is unrealistic, yes, but that is not quite the same as the cold, calculating and dishonest greed a lot of you are talking about. I'm not denying that some people must be motivated by ruthless greed - let's call that reason a) why people ask big wishes. However, I bet the majority are just following some damn instructions and wishing for their dream item, regardless of cost (reason b). This mixed in with a bit of human nature, of course. Human nature is self-oriented. We all want stuff for ourselves, it's to do with survival, our ability to imagine our future etc; again, instinctively desiring something is not quite the same as the dishonest, screw-the-little-guy sort of greedy attitude that everyone seems to be thinking. So maybe humanity is naturally selfish, but either way, sheer humanity is reason c.

Reason d) is simple. People ARE granting the massive wishes. Those people, I think you might agree, are fully entitled to ask for an item as expensive as the one they bought and gave away themselves. Why shouldn't they? So there's the third reason.

So let's think about this. I've just listed four reasons why those random people might ask for an expensive wish, and only one of those (a) means that they are being a dickhead. If it's b) or c), can you really blame a human for following instructions/ dreaming big, or acting like a human? And if it's a type d) you're insulting, well, who is acting like a dickhead now?

I reckon most doing this haven't even put the thought into it - they're too busy just wildly insulting every other human they notice, without knowing (or even considering) their reasoning or whether they deserve it or not. Worse, some don't even care about the nonsense little details such as the perspectives of others.

I'm going to go right ahead and guess it's because so many people are butthurt over not getting the pixels they wanted evr so muchhh yy cruil wurrrrld ;-;

Here's the definition of greedy, by the way: "Having or showing an intense and selfish desire (for wealth or power)."

....people are getting very upset indeed......because their intense, self-oriented desire to have their own wishes granted is being denied by others?................ ... ..well slap my arse and call me Roger, I think that might just fall under 'greed' as well.

We're all human. The only person who is getting stressed out when you get upset, is you. And me, because for some reason I seem to care about this. Meh.
