Yep, I am one of those. When the elixirs were bought up and repriced, I thought "damn, this is not going to go over well..." And it didn't. I should also note that I hate that everything in the Magic Box was repriced. Almost nothing in there is worth restocking now, especially the countless elixirs that are stocked in there and just sit there since they are twice the amount (or more) than to just grab them from the user shops. The basic elixirs and potions should naturally stay (in my opinion). But the "special" colors (even more-so than others, the Bloodred) should all just go poof. They could be added to the token shop or crystal shop when they are too inflated, or when the newer ones are released. That way they are not too overpriced (for the most part), there is not an over abundance of them (I have over 100 of one of them in particular...), and they do get released. This would also put potions back into demand (which are all under-priced right now). Their prices don't even warrant them being fragmented or turned into the Pawn shop. It's all just a big lose at this point.
i should make it a personal goal to try and buy all the cheap ones and defrag them, cause i kinda agree.
but how about retiring the vesnali items from the holiday shop?
Retiring the vesnali things now! I really though I already got those out. Sorry guys!
Hm. I could actually see retiring all of the 'special' ones as a good thing. All of the basic ones should def stay, as many users depend on those (myself included) when creating new pets. However, the 'special' ones, all those ever do is create drama that I see. When a new color is introduced yeah some people get the new pet for cheap because of them, but the other turn is that a looooot of people lose sp when the elixirs are swiped out of their shop by the first people to think of it when they see the news post. Then BAM an 80k elixir is worth the price of the potion within 5 minutes and 20 people are upset.
It would also make it a bit more exciting and more difficult for people who need them for collections for galleries, TCs, etc. I would hate to see them disappear from the site forever though as they got used up, so maybe once a year there could be an 'Elixir Week' when they all restocked again. Something, I dunno.
Definitely agree with this idea. If I remember correctly, a thread that was just 'get rid of special elixirs entirely' garnered quite a bit of support, but was mostly opposed by people who collected elixirs.
But yeah, really would like to see many of the basic color-potions to increase in price, which would happen once you got the special elixirs out of the system.
I totally agree, the "special" elixirs at the very least should go.

I give out:
Yeah the special ones aren't really necessary, they should be retired, but the basic ones should stay.
I don't see the harm in the special ones staying, myself.
They are almost never profitable. 90% of the time they are a 500% loss. Restocking them is not worth it, so they sit in the shop taking up space. Fragmenting them is not worth it because they are still almost always twice the price of a crystal (forget about restocking them TO fragment). Turning them into the hustler is only worth it sometimes. The point is that they are simply taking up a lot of space. Limiting them further would cause their prices to go up, making them actually worth something.
I could see this working by way of retiring a pet species elixir for a set while before letting it back into stream. Just flat out retiring them would be too much though. I know I used a large number of elixirs for just one pet's treasure chest, and if those were that hard to come by that pet would not exist. Also, I was able to get the pet color I wanted (a cream chai) when I just started on the site. If that elixir hadn't been around, there's the chance that I could have lost interest in tending to pets/playing because it was too hard or impossible to get what I wanted.
Not saying that everyone is like this, but there has to be a line of sorts. A game should be hard to get what you want in, but not impossible. Unless it's weapons you're after. XP
Ah, thanks for explaining.
On one hand, I want people to be able to sell rare items for a profit. On the other hand, I like the possibility of being able to switch pet species and colors easily. I know that's one of the things that made me interested in staying at Subeta when I was new -- dirt-cheap elixirs that let even poor users experiment. Even though I'm wealthy now and it isn't relevant to me anymore, newer or casual users benefit from modestly priced elixirs. Would greatly reducing the amount of elixirs offered at the Magic Box per restock and then greatly lowering their basic official shop price do anything?
I'm okay with a modest price raise, but I remember being a newbie looking at 60k SP Dawn Potions and despairing that I'd have Common colored pets for months. There's got to be something in the middle.
I personally didn't like the increase Magic Shop prices move myself, though, yes, there were soo many elixirs at 400sp
I'm kind of neutral about stopping the special colors and whatnot. I agree with that a big appeal for Subeta is that the elixirs aren't mindblowingly expensive (but then again, I feel that people in general don't treasure their pets as much as a few other pet sites I've been on).
BUT, if the special color elixirs get retired/etc, then their corresponding color potions should be like lowered in rarity (even though they're friggen cheap right now, I think it would make sense).
Buuuut I think that the staff should have been buying elixirs from usershops to at least a little higher than the shop price of the elixirs, sort of monitoring the market, ya know?

I don't agree with anything about this suggestion or any of the other suggestions in this thread. It's just not a problem. Not profitable for you? Don't restock there. There's lots of ways to make sP, so do something else.
Subeta isn't like neopets where it takes you years to get a color, you have to fight absurd inflation of speculators, and then and only then random events fuck you over by changing your pets color to something you don't want. if you make that pet active. That is a GOOD THING.
If I were to want to make the elixirs rare, this is what I'd do :
I feel like Staff only did about half the process right, and it clearly seemed like a short term fix for an unexisting problem (since as Soltice said, Subeta has never been the place where getting your pets colored took an unmanly effort, and that gives Subeta a lot of appeal)
Though, retiring them then unretiring when they get too pricey? wtf. This is funny too :
sure

Popoko Elixir 129 Yeah, nowhere near over 100. Sorry.
I wouldn't care if they did what you have suggested. My point is that we have an overabundance of them, making them practically useless (no item is actually useless). Keith has said he wanted to make them harder to get, while not being too hard. My suggestion isn't to make them millions. Most potions (basic) are under 100k. Some being under 50k. It really would not be that hard for newer users to make enough to get the basic colors within a day or two.
I wasn't implying that you could be lying, you could very well have over one thousand I still wouldnt gaf
But revealing you own 100 of something you want retired ? Oh please.
