I spend 9 quest points getting this item, but for some reason it makes my hair seriously short. Close to being bald after trying the backdrop. Does anyone have this problem?

You have to drag and drop it behind your Hair layer in the Wardrobe, it'll work best if you layer it behind everything, not just your hair or it may affect clothing and things as well.
